Pumpkin Apple Stamps

Every year since my daughter could walk we would always take her pumpkin picking at Undley Pumpkin Patch. It wasn't something that my parents did with us as children, so it's lovely discovering new autumn traditions with my own family. We always leave with a car load of pumpkins from the biggest ones that we can carry to the cutest little white pumpkins for our windows and front door.

With our autumn traditions we also love spending time doing lots of autumn or Halloween crafts. This apple stamping pumpkin craft is such a fun autumn activity for little ones and it really is so simple and easy to do. You only need a few supplies to make this cute little pumpkins.

Sometimes when it comes to being creative with children it can cause more mess and chaos that you expect, but with these apple pumpkin stamps you don't need to. This is probably one of the easiest and fun activities that I have done with my daughter, and I am sure you will be able to create some funky looking pumpkins in no time at all.

To make your scary, silly or happy pumpkins you will need:

Apple, cut in half.
Orange paint
Paint brushes
Googly eyes
Brown & Green Pipe Cleaners
White Card
Black felt pen or sharpie

STEP 1: Begin by cutting your apples into halves and pat the insides dry with a kitchen towel to help you get a better stamp. Using a small paintbrush dap some orange paint onto one half of your apple and make sure that you have a thick layer of paint to ensure you get a good stamp.

STEP 2: Now the fun can begin. Carefully press your painted apple half down onto the paper and peel away to reveal your stamp. You can touch up any unpainted parts with your paintbrush.

STEP 3: Before your pumpkins dries its time to add on their googly eyes. Little ones will love watching their little pumpkins come to life, we used lots of different googly eyes for our. Pop some glue on the back and then press down firmly until they are set.

STEP 4: Next cut down your brown pipe cleaners into small stems and twist your green pipes cleaners around a small pencil to create a cute curly leaf and then cut them down to size. We did find that wiping your pipe cleaners across the glue stick was less messy than if you was to add some glue to the pipe cleaner, if that makes sense.

STEP 5: It's time to make some funky faces for your pumpkins. Using a black felt pen or sharpie draw on a little face. If you want you can use some black card to cut out some small triangles for their eyes, nose and then cut a slightly larger pieces for the mouth. You could make some scary, silly or happy faces.

These apple stamping pumpkin crafts are so simple and easy to do with little ones. If you have a craft box at home, chances are you will have all the supplies you'll need. Will you have a go at making some pumpkin apple stamps? If you do, you will have to share your little creations.

Why not try some of our other autumn crafts?
