Explore the Adventure: Disney On Ice Dream Big Tour

|
A love for Disney is something that never really goes away, if anything it grows. Whenever I think about Disney it takes me back to my childhood and the fond memories of love, magic and fairy tales. Now that I have my own daughter I want the magic to continue. That's exactly what happened last week we we had one of the most amazing opportunities to go and see Disney on Ice at the Motorpoint Arena in Nottingham. We were so excited to go and see the show, and you might remember from our first post about Disney on Ice Dream Big, that some of my daughter's favourite characters were going to be appearing in the show. We couldn't wait to dream big!!!

Disney On Ice Dream Big

For the first time in Europe, join fearless Moana and the greatest demigod that ever lived, Maui, on an action-packed voyage to restore the stolen heart of Te Fiti, live on ice! Get tangled up in Rapunzel’s hair-raising quest to see the floating lights. Travel to mountainous Arendelle with Anna, Elsa and Olaf in a dramatic retelling of the sisterly love that saved a kingdom. And discover the strength, bravery and kindness that inspired generation after generation with Jasmine, Ariel, Aurora, Belle and Cinderella. Plus, arrive early to join a special 90th birthday celebration in honour of Walt Disney’s ‘True Original,’ Mickey Mouse. We were so excited to go on our little adventure.

We had a little way to travel to go and see the show, so we organised an early pick up at the school and then set off on our two hour journey. Once we arrived in Nottingham we soon discovered that it's definitely a change from the calm country roads in Norfolk. We managed to find a car parking space on a little side road, after failing to find an actual car park twice. It only cost £4 so absolute bargain. We then made our way to the Motorpoint Arena which was a ten minute walk for us and we couldn't wait to get inside to meet the characters and see the show. Our excitement was short lived as we had trouble getting access into the arena due to the security guards. I wasn't aware that there are certain items that are prohibited and your bags have to be within a certain measurement. I was denied access to the arena due to my camera, they deemed my camera too professional. I can honestly say that my Samsung NX10 is far from professional. One security guard was more than happy to try and help us get the camera into a locker, however another one said that none were available. Clearly we had caught him on a bad day as we discovered lots of unopened lockers on our arrival after we took the camera back to the car.

We wanted to put that to the back of our mind and get excited about the show. From the moment we stepped into the Motorpoint arena it was all smiles and excitement and you could feel the positive atmosphere. We collected our tickets and headed to a special meet and greet that we was slightly late for, but we got a little goody bag that was full of treats. We then made our way inside the arena and were showed to our seats, which were amazing! We could see everything in the show, whilst being able to make a quick exit during the intermission.

It was showtime! After a brief introduction by Mickey and Minnie Mouse I then looked over at my daughter and she was full on crying, I couldn't actually believe she was crying. Of course they were happy tears and I have to admit it took me quite a bit to hold back my tears. Mickey and Minnie Mouse tried to encourage the audience to get up on their feet and dance, which we did, very well! We were treated to the main event, which kept the crowd captivated from start to finish. Mickey and Minnie did of course make regular appearances throughout the show and helped to connect each of the stories to the next. With a little Tinkerbell in toe.

We absolutely loved Disney on Ice Dream Big show, and it made my little girl's year. We are already making plans to go to the tour next year. We all loved this show because it had a great mixture of characters including some of our favourites such a Rapunzel, Anna, Ariel and even Moana in her first debut with Disney on Ice. There are some amazing scenes recreated on the ice from Aladdin, Beauty and the Beast, The Little Mermaid, Rapunzel, Sleeping Beauty and of course Frozen, which was so spectacular. Our favourite parts of the Disney On Ice show was the Frozen with Anna, Elsa, Kristoff and of course Olaf. But for my mum said shee really enjoyed the Moana part of the show where Maui comes out to sing 'Your Welcome' and we all sang along. We all absolutely loved it, especially all the special effects onto the rink.

First up on the ice was Aladdin, where ice skaters recreated the market place scene where Aladdin first meets Princess Jasmine. Both my daughter, mum and I were mesmerised by their beautiful and skillful skating as they glided across the ice rink. It must have taken the skater so long to mastered their skills on the ice. The Beauty and the Beast segment of the show that everyone was singing along to, Belle being my favourite princess, this was by far a favourite part of the show for me with the song 'Be Our Guest'. It was a shame that the beast didn't feature in the main event, it would have been lovely for them to recreate the 'Tale as Old as Time' moment. My daughter was so happy to see The Little Mermaid singing 'Under The Sea' with Sebastian, Flounder and friends taking us on a journey beneath the waves and we even caught a glimpse of Ursula.

There were also other performances during the first part of the show including Tangled, Cinderella and Sleeping Beauty, with the a special fire breathing dragon. The clever use of pyrotechnics creates small flames across the ice as the Prince battled with the dragon. It was a pretty spectacular moment. It most definately caught many members of the audience by surprise, with lots of gasps.

It was then a small intermission and so we brought a couple of snacks. My daughter wanted some chips while I settled on some nachos. I did find that some of the refreshments were quite pricey and I think next time we will take our own. The final act was one that we really couldn't wait for - Frozen. My daughter really loves Anna and was very excited when she saw her come onto the ice, she did try to get her attention by screaming Anna. But Anna was the ever so professional and waved. We were taken on an little adventure to the town of Arendelle. We were treated to songs Love Is An Open Door, For The First Time In Forever and Let It Go. Snow fell from the rooftop which added to the magic and created a beautiful wintry sight. It was honestly so good. I have never been to a show like it!

In a nutshell, Disney on Ice Dream Big is a wonderful family show to take your children to. It was one of the most amazing shows that I have ever been to and one that everyone should experience in their life time. It was spectacular, amazing and soooo magical! This show is perfect for those who adore princesses, or those who love to dream big.

We were kindly gifted tickets for Disney on Ice, however all my words are my own.

How to Supersize Your Living Space

|
If your possessions are outgrowing your living space, you’re not alone. Sometimes it’s just clutter that ought to be discarded, like piles of outdated magazines or worn out clothes. Often though, things we love and can’t bear to part with surround us. These special things make finding suitable storage hard. Here are some ideas to help you get the most from your living space:

Space Enhancing Furnishings

If you can see under, through or round a piece of furniture, it makes the area seem more spacious. Sofas on legs, glass topped tables or floating shelves in place of free standing book or CD stands all help to make the floor seem bigger.

Storage furnishings like lift-top coffee tables, side tables with drawers, or storage stools, all help control common living room clutter such as TV remotes or games consoles.

If space is really tight, look for folding tables and chairs you can tuck away when you don’t need them. Drop leaf dining tables, for instance, take up almost no space when folded down. Some include a storage compartment that holds folding chairs.

Take storage furniture into the bedroom too. Here, you could opt for an ottoman bed with a lift up mattress or a divan with built in storage. If you prefer a bed frame, wheeled storage boxes are ideal as they keep items dust free and are easy to pull in and out. Use them for spare bedding or toys in children’s rooms.

Hidden and Vertical Space

Corners are neglected areas we tend to ‘round off’ with chairs or a TV unit. Alcoves or other awkward spaces also get neglected. Corner shelves are great storage additions, and can also be used for accent lighting to help with mood and ambiance, as well as creating display areas.

Storage spaces such as under stair cupboards may not be huge, but with a few shelves, hooks or rails they can help to organise all kinds of things from shoes to cleaning products.

If space in the kitchen is restricted, consider a row of baskets (wire mesh are ideal as you can see what’s in them) on top of wall cabinets. The baskets look neat, and are easier to retrieve than individual items.

Seasonal Storage Ideas

Taking a seasonal approach can help with identifying which items you don’t need right now. Things to consider include out-of-season clothes, lawn mowers and paddling pools during the winter, snow boots and overcoats in the height of summer, Christmas decorations and trees, discarded larger toys, sports equipment… the list of things we only use at certain times of the year is almost endless. Pack summer and winter items separately in clearly labelled cardboard boxes or plastic tubs so you have all your seasonal items to hand.

Keeping everything at home, even when it won’t be used for several months, is a waste of valuable space. Many people are turning to storage units to clear the decks at home. Without being tied into long contracts, you can get a storage unit as small as a locker or big enough for a house full of belongings.

While the space advantages are obvious, a perk not often realised is how fresh things seem when you return to them after a few weeks or months. They either become extra precious when you rediscover them, or you realise they’re not so special after all and you’re more comfortable with letting them go.

Decor Tips

As well as finding physical storage places, there are some things you can do to help give the appearance of more space. These include hanging mirrors opposite windows to bounce more natural light around the room, and installing additional side and accent lamps in place of one overhead ceiling light.

If you’re redecorating, experts advise to paint door frames and skirting boards the same colour as walls. This makes a room seem larger because it creates a single flow of colour instead of dividing the room into distinct blocks. With home decor improvements and clever storage ideas and solutions, it’s possible to make even the smallest of living spaces appear much more spacious.

Our Letter to Father Christmas

|
We love this time of year, it's always so exciting. Christmas as a parent is so magical, there is nothing like seeing a child smile on Christmas morning as they unwrap their gifts by the tree and watch them get so excited when they get something that they really wanted. Like so many, I absolutely adore Christmas. I am definitely one of those people that like to see the Christmas decorations in shops early and my daughter and I have been listening to Christmas songs since October. I love all the warm Christmas scents and indulging in the most wonderful treats. Most families have certain traditions that they need to do in order to get into the Christmas spirit and now that we are a family I think it's time we made our own. One that I am keen on starting this year is writing a letter to Father Christmas and this year we have decided to be a little more creative.

My husband and I were having a conversation about letters to Father Christmas and as a child I remembered being quite traditional and would write Father Christmas out in a nice list, with a splodge of glitter for a lovely artistic twist. However my husband as a child would be a little more creative and use cuttings from children toys catalogue and stick them at the bottom of his letter, to ensure that Father Christmas would bring the right gifts. I thought that this would be a wonderful idea to do with our daughter, and she loves to be creative with the glitter. We made a trip to Argos and other toys shops to collect some catalogue and so we got snippy. So if you want to do this with your little one, you will need the following:

A1 size of white paper,
Toy catalogue
Scissors
Glue
Glitter
Pen

So you start with a large piece of paper and begin writing your letter to Father Christmas. Our daughter is really getting into phonics, she is beginning to blend so well and over the last couple of weeks she has started to enjoy writing. So we sat down together and wrote a letter to Father Christmas and she did so well, I was a very proud Mummy. It was so great seeing her so eager and happy to put a pen to paper.

Remember when writing your letter to Father Christmas try and do the letter on the top half and use the bottom half for your picture snippets. We got a couple of pairs of child friendly scissors and got snippy and made our way through the toy catalogue. Once we did that we got some PVA glue, but a glue stick would probably work best and stuck all the picture snippets at the bottom of the letter.

Lastly, the fun part! We got creative! My daughter loves glitter, but as a parent, glitter has become the bain of my life because it gets everywhere and you end up finding it days later. But nonetheless, it was a special occasion so we let her go a little wild with the glitter and also got a pack of Christmas stick on decorations to add onto our letter. So what do you think?

Once dry you get to pop your letter into an envelope and send to Father Christmas. As Christmas is coming The Royal Mail want every child to send their letter to Father Christmas by the Friday 7th of December to make sure that everyone gets a response in time. This will be the first year we have used Royal Mail, but I have so many friends and family who have used the service before and really recommend using it. So please send your letters to:

Father Christmas or Santa,
Santa's Grotto,
Reindeerland,
XM4 5HQ

It's really important you write the address carefully on a stamped envelope. Please be sure that you include your full name and address in your letter. Please send your letters to Father Christmas by Friday 7 December so he has has time to reply.

That Personal Touch with Funky Pigeon

|
We are well and truly gearing up to the last few weeks of Christmas shopping! Eeeek. Not too long until the big day, are you prepared? We still have quite a bit to do, but we always like to go that one step further with some of our favourite people and get personal! If you're anything like me, opening a gift from a loved one that is a little more personal means such much more. It shows that they have put a lot of thought and love into a gift for you. My daughter is a big fan of personalised gifts and loves to spell out her name or see her little face on a cup or cushion. So whether you're looking for something a little special for your mum, dad, wife or even your little one Funky Pigeon will have something for you .

We’ve always been fans of Funky Pigeon and have used their personalised cards for years, but we have never tried any of their products or their Christmas range. With an amazing variety of mugs, cushions, canvases, there are countless designs, colours and choices of personalisation. This year we wanted to get something a little special for some favourite of ours and decided to get a personalised canvas made. Funky Pigeon have an extensive Christmas range where you can find a wide range of unique and personalised Christmas gifts. There are so many designs to choose from, whether you’re looking for a funny Christmas gift to make them laugh or something personalised for something extra special.

In their Christmas section, you’ll find a huge mix of ideas from personalised gifts to novelty presents and more. There are plenty of ideas to choose from so if it's for secret Santa, a stocking filler or a thoughtful gift for that special someone I kn ow you'll be able to some inspiration. All that can be personalised with photos or a message to make your present their favourite. For our gift we decided to get a gorgeous landscape canvas print with four photos. The design will wrap around the edges of the canvas and this particular canvas comes in three size 30 cm x 20 cm, 40 cm x 30 cm and 60 cm x 40 cm.

Ordering Online

Funky Pigeon was so easy to navigate around making it so easy to pick and choose my design of the canvas. Uploading my images was pretty straight forward too, along with choosing my size and checking out. I must admit I was quite surprised at how quickly I could create my own personalised canavs! It’s so simple. We chose a 30 cm x 20 cm print with a white edging. At first we uploaded our photos and then we personalised the canvas text with 'A is for Amelia-Rose'. More people are choosing to add canvases into their homes, but when it comes to buying they can be quite costly. The bigger the canvas the more expensive they can be. However, I have found that all the canvases on Funky Pigeon are reasonable in price.

Our Canvas

The delivery is super fast and you are provided with tracking information and continuous emails updates along the way, ensuring you are kept up to date throughout. I couldn’t be more pleased with the quality, as it was perfect. The image was clear and the colours are beautiful. Funky Pigeon is so simple and easy to use, you can pretty much design your own canvas in less than five minutes. I also love the fact that delivery is super quick and the quality is outstanding! If a canvas isn't quite what you are looking for there are more options available over on Funky Pigeon, so you'll be able to find something or just go and peek for a little inspiration. Remember it's all about those personal touches.

This post contains gifted items, but as always my words are my own.

Gift Guide For Her.

|
In no time at all it will be time to open the advent calendars, decorate the tree and make your home feel like it's Christmas. And when it comes to Christmas we have to have a gift guide in there somewhere and this year we have been working really hard to collect a few gifts that will be perfect for the women in your life that will suit all budgets. When it comes to buying for females, you really are spoiled for choice, and at times it can be quite overwhelming trying to figure out exactly what they will love to open on Christmas morning. I was so eager to want to share this one with you all and it's pretty amazing, but hopefully with this cheeky little gift guide buying for the ladies in your life will be less overwhelming.

Being a beauty girl, let's kick off this gift guide with a few beauty picks. I have to tell you about this really good palette but there are so many gorgeous options out there. Everyone has their go to palettes and one of my favourites is the gorgeous Makeup Revolution Redemption Palette Iconic 3, it's super cheap too making it the perfect stocking filler for the lady in your life. However I'm in love with this gorgeous Eaton palette from STYLondon. This is the cutest palette and what gorgeous shades! Perfect for party season. You have nine high quality shades in this palette which include 6 metallics and 3 mattes. The shades are highly pigmented and blend really well on me. I love the red and bronze metallic shades most. This is a nice sized palette for a purse of make-up bag too. The eye shadows are mineral based, paraben free, animal cruelty free, high pigment, eyeshadow palettes with added Vitamin E. These shades are super soft, easily blend-able powder and you can create some of the cutest autumnal and Christmas looks.

Now I love nails and always add a bright pink, red or nude shade to my naked nails when I can, and I'm good to go. However, after a couple of days they begin to chip and reapplication becomes the bane of my life, going through tonnes of nail polish and remover in the process. Every so often I will go and get my nails done if we have a special occasion but at £30 a pop, it can be costly. That was until this SensatioNail Starter Kit came through my door. I will be honest. I never thought that at home gel nails would be for me because I thought it would be too complicated, tedious, and expensive. But SensatioNail have completely changed my mind and I am actually really surprised. It’s a really simple process and the starter kit has EVERYTHING you need. The SensatioNail Pink Chiffon gel nail starter kit includes everything you need to prep and complete salon quality gel nail polish manicures at home; that will last up to 2 weeks with no chipping, smudging, cracks or dulling! And for me I think that this would be the perfect gift to get the lady in your life and help her save a little in the process.

I found the best luxury gift set for a bargain price from ASOS with this Bobbi Brown Beauty Bundle that brings you six winter makeup essentials to help see you through the run-up to Christmas – all for just £15. Personally I would love to find this under my tree on Christmas morning. The gift set includes a Bobbi Brown Vitamin Enriched Face Base: part moisturiser, part primer, apply it to clean skin for a super-smooth makeup application, before following with the Extra Repair Moisture Cream, either on its own or mixed in with the Extra Illuminating Moisture Balm. Also included is a Long-Wear Cream Shadow in Beach Bronze to bring festive sparkle to your eyelids, while the kohl-pigmented Smokey Eye Mascara is ready to give you the wow factor. Finishing with the Crushed Lip Color in Babe which is a mid-tone pink shade for a subtle rosy tint. Perfect gift!

This Shea Treats Beauty Cube with mini bathtime treats includes Shea Shower Cream, Shea Body Whip, and Taupe Mini Bath Lily enriched with Community Trade shea butter from Ghana, that leaves skin feeling softer and subtly scented.

At this time of year, I love to indulge in a big bubble bath a couple of time of week so make sure you put this Star on Top Gift Pack on your Christmas list, with pure essential oils you’ll be shining all day long! Drop your Bomb Cosmetics Bath Blaster in to a bath of warm water and watch as it fizzes, releasing its perfume and essential oils, while the Bicarbonate of Soda softens the water. Is it even Christmas without receiving a fragrance or two? And I have seen a couple of fantastic deals online and out and about in town. I picked up this cute little Ghost Moonlight Gift Set. A new delicate and sensual fragrance which works effortlessly from day to night making it the perfect fragrance for round the clock romance. Delicate tones of Pink Peony, Lily of the Valley and Orange Blossom are blended with the sweet richness of White Chocolate creating an enchanting scent. Now is it even Christmas without overindulgence and CHOCOLATE! Nope I didn't think so, however this is not a normal box of chocolates. The Gourmet Chocolate Pizza Company have an abundance of options for Christmas, how perfect are these Cocktail Mini Pack? That offer a trio of alcohol-flavoured Chocolate Pizzas, including our festive favourite Irish Cream, Gin & Tonic and Peach & Prosecco. Gift Guide: For Him

|
Can you believe we are in gearing up towards the end of November already? I'm way too excited for Christmas, there's lots of planning and organising to be done before the big day which means that I have to start thinking about what I will be getting my husband for Christmas. But every year, every blooming year, I find myself in the same situation. What do I get him? My husband is so hard to buy for, he never gives me any clues. Is it just me, or does the shopping get harder each year? Whether it's my husband or brother I always find myself struggling to find gifts. I don't really want to get them just anything, last year my husband received 10 boxes of Nivea! TEN! I actually want his face to light up on Christmas morning like my does when I open up the gifts I receive. Thankfully, I have come across a few gift ideas that will be sure to keep my husband smiling on Christmas morning. I like to try and find unique Christmas gifts; gifts that my family and close friends will find useful and perhaps things that they'd truly love but maybe wouldn't spend money on themselves. So with that we have a gift guide for you, yes another one, but you can never have too many choices when it comes to the men in your life. So before you click off, just have a peek at what we have come up with this year.

Gadgets, let's face it guys love their gadgets! And this year a SAMSUNG Galaxy Tab A 10.1" Tablet is the way to kick off this gift guide. Designed for every day and everyone in your family, the Galaxy Tab A has a beautiful 10.1” screen, which is the ideal size for watching films, playing games and editing documents. Take your reading and browsing to the next level with the 4:3 aspect ratio screen that makes every page look great. However despite the generous screen size, the Tab A is slim, light and easy to carry with you wherever you go. I must admit I wouldn't mind one of these for myself, even if I do have a laptop. It would make my life as a blogger so easy, as I could blog on the go. And this one has a great deal, so snap it up before they all go. As I said most men love gadgets, so this is sure to be a safe bet for sure. Nextbase, the leading provider of Dash Cams offer a great range of products that would be a great idea for any drivers in the family. Regardless of the popularity of Dash Cams as a gadget, the 112 model is affordable, effective, a great gift to buy any driver. The 112 is compact, easy to use, and records stunning 720p HD footage. It boasts a variety of features. The Four Element Sharp Lenses, made with four layers of glass, delivers clear images and the photo mode allows you to take still images for further evidence. It small and compact and can be easily stored snugly into your car. What's more, for Nextbase are offering up to 25% off all of their Dash Cams at the moment.

My husband tries to keep fit and one thing that he is really interested in getting is a fitness tracker, he has a watch but finds it far too heavy, and not very practical when you're being active. This Fitbit Flex 2 Fitness Wristband is the perfect choice as it's super lightweight but he will be able to track steps, distance, calories burned, active minutes, hourly activity and stationary time. Automatically track activities like running, sports and aerobic workouts, then see exercise summaries in the Fitbit app. It will also let him know when he has calls and texts, Flex 2 vibrates and the discreet LED display flashes colour-coded lights. I also like the fact that the Fitbit flex 2 is the first swim-proof device from fitbit, meaning it is water resistant to 50 meters. For those days at the gym or at football this Ion8 Leak Proof Steel Vacuum Water Bottle in the colour Meadowlark will be the perfect companion. Whether you like your drinks ice cold or nice and warm, this insulated stainless steel water bottles are ideal for keeping liquids at a suitable drinking temperature for longer. The ThermoShield vacuumed design protects flavours and freshness, allowing you to enjoy a wide range of beverages while on the go. Simply open with one twist for access whenever you need it and lock back into place to avoid any accidental spills when you’re done. And with various colours and sizes available, you’re sure to find something that suits your lifestyle among our collection.

For those men who like to keep a clean sharp look this Phillips Aqua Touch. Get an easy, comfortable shave with the Series 3000 shaver. The Comfort Cut Blade System glides smoothly across the skin while protecting it from nicks and cuts. The 4-directional heads follow the contours the face giving a comfortable shave. With Aquatec technology, the 3000 is waterproof so you can shave your way and choose whether you enjoy a comfortable dry shave or shave wet with gel or in the shower. I am sure that my husband isn't the only man that get boxes and boxes of toiletries and even though that's the case, I still like to get him a couple of bottles of aftershave. Now this is a gift that you can't go wrong with, so if you're looking for inspiration for a fragrance get him something that he hasn't tried before. Head over to the closest fragrance shop and enjoy a spritz or two. Both my husband and I had a rare morning together the other week and we headed into town for breakfast and we ended up in Debenhams and had a spritz off and ended smelling amazing. My husband loves Paca Rabanne. However my Dad he loves Old Spice and I picked up this lovely Old Spice Whitewater gift set for him that includes a deodorant spray and an aftershave.

This O’Keeffe’s gift set would make a lovely gift for those who have working hands. My husband uses his hand as an engineer on a daily basis and he is always getting some kind of cuts and grazes. So this year I thought that I would look into getting something for his hands and came across this gift set. There are so many different gift sets available but I really like this one because it includes a tube of O’Keeffe’s Working Hands, O’Keeffe’s Healthy Feet and lastly some O’Keeffe’s Lip Repair a fairly new product that has only been released this year.

When it comes to the men in our life we have to consider their personal style. I adore this Globenfeld Super Sport Metal Men’s Watch they will most definitely stand out from the crowd and get noticed. Globenfeld have designed a Super Sport Series to improve on its overall toughness and masculine style. You’ll look and play the part in the boardroom, on the track, and everywhere in between. Now for something more personal and something that means more than a bottle of aftershave. My daughter and I wanted to surprise him with the very stylish Personalised Men's Dual Leather Bracelet, he has been asking one for a while, but we have never really got around to actually getting him one. With this dual cord of black woven leather, the bracelet measures approx. 21 x 1.2 cm and features two points of personalisation. Add initials to the left-hand side (up to 3 characters) and a name, date or short message on the right, up to a maximum of 20 characters. We decided to get his initial 'TDC' and then a little message from the both of us 'We love You x'. This bracelet has been designed to be a good length and style for a man, and the leather part is made from specially treated hard-wearing woven leather. It has a distinctive clasp as an extra stylish touch.

Is it even Christmas without socks? No, I didn't think so! However these are much more than just a pair of socks! Critically Endangered Socks and their story begins in Borneo, home to the world’s oldest rainforest and a plethora of critically endangered species. A decade ago, the founder Dom Desmond visited the island’s northern jungles and spotted the critically endangered Borneo orangutans in the wild for the first time. Fast-forward ten years and the once lush rainforests have fallen victim to palm oil plantations and illegal logging. Dom thought up a company that would go where no company had gone before - using funds from sock sales to help this NGO protect the Borneo rainforest. The idea quickly grew into a company that would support five of the world’s most endangered species. And that’s how Critically Endangered Socks was born. Personally this is one gift that keeps on giving!

A perfect gift for a bookworm would be this book Gloriana, inspired by the film Valkyrie. That is about a plot to assassinate the British Prime Minister. Will it succeed? Read it and find out, it is well worth it. It gains a quick pace up to the explosion with many twists and turns along the way leaving you completely hooked. This is just one of five short stories available in the Novella Nostalgia series and I will try and get a couple more to add to the collection.

Last but not least. Chocolate! Yes I have saved the best until last. However, when it comes to chocolate at Christmas something a little special is always great to find under the tree and this is exactly what you get with indulgent chocolate like Doisy and Dam. I'm already in love with their toasted rice and pink salt one which is made in the UK and is vegan and gluten and soya free. It has a nice crunch to it from the toasted rice and the pink salt really sweetens the chocolate which makes it a lot nicer than normal dark chocolate. You can really taste the cocoa, so if you're a fan of dark chocolate you will love this one. Howvever with Doisy and Dam there are many flavours to choose from and types of chocolate so you'll be sure to find something.

I really do hope that my gift guide inspires you, even a little. Some of the items feature in my gift guide for him have been sent to me for review, but as always my words are my own.

Gift Guide: For Little Girls

|
Oh look a gift guide, yes you have probably seen quite a few of them now but you can always be inspired for more Christmas shopping. So are you an online shopper? Or do you like the hustle and bustle of heading into town for a Christmas shop. I'm a bit of both, and now that lady is at school I have the perfect opportunity to miss the rush and shop in peace with a hot chocolate half way through. And this year we have tried our best to not overspend and scouted around to find the best deals and of course I wanted to share a couple of gift ideas with you for little girls aged between three and five. The year seems to be flying by and it's actually crazy to think that we are getting prepared for our fourth Christmas with our beautiful little girl. Christmas as a parent is amazing and as each year passes by they get better. Now as you know Mimi is super girly! She adores princesses, fairies, and unicorns and so I have compiled a gift for a little girl in the hope to inspire you.

Now I must say there's nothing quite like seeing your child play with toys that are as popular today as they were during your own childhood. Sylvanian Families were always something that I asked for on birthdays and were always first on my letters to Father Christmas. These little woodland creatures would keep both my sister and I occupied for hours allowing our imaginations to run wild. And now for one reason or another my daughter has been really getting into role play, and she will play for hours. When we asked her what she would like from Father Christmas the only gift she asked for was a Sylvanian Families House, and so we have got her the Beechwood Hall. We cannot wait to see her face Christmas morning. However, we couldn't just get her the house we needed a couple families. We were kindly gifted these very adorable Marshmallow Mouse Family, and I will be the first to admit that they are a pretty cute family. This particular collectible family is a four piece set. Meet Bernard the Marshmallow Mouse, Bianca the Marshmallow Mouse mother, Christopher the Marshmallow Mouse boy & Katherine the Marshmallow Mouse girl.

My daughter loves rabbits and Peter Rabbit is kind of a big thing in our house. You may remember my daughter's bedroom updates, where our daughter had pretty much outgrown most of her furniture and asked for Peter Rabbit theme throughout her bedroom. It wasn't long after that we were able to venture into the magical of Beatrix Potter and her many tales about rabbits, a naughty squirrel and puddle ducks. So it comes to no surprise that The Peter Rabbit Little Guide to Life made it's way into our gift guide. An added special touch is the personalisation. You can personalise with any name, which is on the front cover and throughout the book, and can even include a personalised message on the inside cover. As you know, my girl is super girly and since her birthday she has really got into making her own bracelets, wearing her dress up shoes and loves holding handbags. So a cute gift idea for her would be her very own tote bag, and keeping with the Peter Rabbit obsession we decided to get her this cute pink flopsy tote bag from The Peter Rabbit Official Store. Made with PVC coated cotton, each tote bag is waterproof, rugged and wipe clean. Small handles make it easy for little people to carry. Each of the bags has an image image of the Flopsy bunnies on the front and a repeat pattern on the back. I know that she is going to love it. If they love rabbit why not try and get them a cute little Miffy back pack, I don't know what it is but my daughter loves to take a back pack everywhere. It's pretty convenient for her as she can grab a snack when she wants. I am sure you'll remember this white rabbit from your own childhood. Miffy is a small female rabbit in a series of picture books drawn and written by Dutch artist Dick Bruna. The first Miffy book was produced in 1955, and almost 30 others have followed so you won't be short of an adventure or two with Miffy. The Miffy Backpack is the perfect size for us right now and we’ll also be using it for school It's a cute design and I love the colours. One to add to your list.

Fingerlings have to be one of the cutest little interactive toysI have seen so far. These kind of remind of those interactice furbys you could get in the 90s. I have to tell you I would spend hours trying to figure out what they were trying to say. Fast forward a few years into parenthood and now my daughter wants in on the latest obsession with these exciting interactive Fingerlings. The Fingerlings make lots of different sounds. They have cute blinking eyes and like hanging on your finger or swinging by their curly tail. You can rock them to sleep and blow them kisses. They are so cute and I know that my daughter will love them when she tries to interact with them. However seeing as she’s completely obsessed with unicorns it only felt right that we got her a couple of unicorn fingerlings. And oh my these are sooo much cooler than the monkeys. We have the Gigi who is a white unicorn with beautiful rainbow mane and Gemma who is pink with raindow mane and tail. These both are pretty cute and will keep my daughter occupied for hours as she chats away to them about their big imaginary adventures.

My daughter thinks she is Rapunzel, which is why it's taking me a long time to encourage to cut her hair. However we did manage to cut off at least an inch. Something that our daughter has been asking for is a new Rapunzel doll, what princess loving little girl wouldn't want the chance of a new doll. Rapunzel is ready for shimmering adventures with your little princess! Royal Shimmer Rapunzel dazzles in a dress featuring signature colours and images from her story and a special watercolour design! My little dreamer will love playing out magical moments from Disney's Tangled, as well as imagining her own fairy tale with Rapunzel. Last year we got our daughter her first BABY Born doll and she really loves to push her around in her pram and likes to go on the odd adventures in the car. However I have been informed by said unicorn obsessed little lady that her baby is in fact obsessed with unicorns too and needs a unicorn onesie apparently! Cue this fabulous unicorn themed outfit and accessory set. BABY Born can snuggle up in the cosy unicorn onesie with wings. The set also includes bodysuit, T-Shirt, multi-coloured tutu, eye mask, slippers, unicorn shawl, bottle and wearable charms.

Who doesn't love a good game at Christmas? As a child nothing would make me happier than waking up Christmas morning to opening all the gifts around the tree to discover a brand new game. We had quite the collection at my grandparents house and I have so many fond memories sitting up the table with a glass of Cherryade, laughing and giggling with them both. Games are such a great way to bring out your competitive side while having fun with family and friends, it's also a good way to break the ice and encourage guest to mingle with one another. Now that my daughter is beginning to enjoy games a little more we thought that perhaps it's time for Pindaloo! Pindaloo is the new toy craze to help improve your hand-eye coordination while having some fun! Perfect for anyone from kids to adults as it's so easy to understand and super addictive once you land your first loop. Join in the endless fun and start learning some tricks. Pindaloo is available in red, blue and yellow and less than £10, such a great prices for hours of fun.

Children absolutely love getting messy don't they? I'm pretty sure that I'm not alone in saying that messy play is not my favourite way to keep my child occupied. We made a sort of revelation recently, stick paints! They are seriously the best invention and every single parent needs to get their hands on some. Little Brian Paint Sticks are amazing. They are a fun, clean, simple and very convenient way to paint, and I know that pretty much every parent will want a stash in their home. Why am I late to the paint stick party? Little Brian Paint Sticks have fast become the latest must have toy for any art or craft fan, all the fun without the mess! This set comes in a pack of 6 or larger packs or 12 ranging from blue, green, pink, red and silver. The sticks are much larger than the mini sticks and my daughter held these quite well, but preferred the mini sticks. I love how bright these sticks are and you can see a slight shimmer before putting the pen to paper. These are fun for both adults and children. The packaging is different to the mini sticks and my daughter was able to pick up the colour of the pen she wanted rather than taking the lids off to take a look.

In my opinion the best way to encourage language development is to read for at least 20 minutes every day and talk about things you do throughout the day. Bed time story is my favourite time of the day with her, we will sit together and go through the story and pick out certain parts and talk about them. We already have the The Julia Donaldson Story Collection, However, seeing as we adore Julia Donaldson we decided to get the Audio collection. These will be perfect for long journeys and for keeping children entertained whatever the weather, among those delivering the soothing, rhyming stories are Imelda Staunton, Alexander Armstrong and even Julia Donaldson herself! The CD included in this collection are What the Ladybird Heard, Charlie Cook's Favourite Book, The Troll, The Snail and the Whale, Room on the Broom, The Smartest Giant, A Squash and a Squeeze, The Gruffalo's Song, The Gruffalo's Child and The Gruffalo.

So what do you think our of our gift guide for little girls? Is there something that you would add into the list? What's your favourite?

Some of the products featured have been sent to me for review, but as always my words are my own.
