BIRCHBOX - February 2018: Beauty Through The Decades

As you may know we have been subscribed to Birchbox for a little while now, and every box that has come through the post has been pretty good. I really look forward to receiving my box of goodies each month, it's always a great way for me to discover new products that I wouldn't normally if it wasn't for this little box. For February, Birchbox are throwing back to the beauty of the bygone eras to celebrate favourite timeless trends and reminisce about certain looks with 'Beauty Through The Decades'. Let's face it beauty is all about mixing up timeless looks with new trends. So this month Birchbox celebrates the best of those popular beauty moments throughout the 70s, 80s and 90s with a special themed box. It’s an interesting concept! I decided to go for the 90s box that has geometric print all over with flecks of pastel colour throughout, and I couldn't wait to see what was inside.

The Beauty Crop. Eyeshadow Trio in Love You So Latte | RRP £7

This month’s Birchbox exclusive comes from the cruelty-free makeup brand, The Beauty Crop, and this eyeshadow trio is super handy to pop into your makeup bag, especially if you’re travelling as it takes up no room at all. This trio pays homage to the popular brown makeup tones of the 90s and has three earthy tones that can be used together for a soft and smokey eye, or used separately for different day and night looks. I know that this is one eyeshadow that I will use with my everyday looks.

Pixi. Shea Butter Lip Balm in Pixi Pink | RRP £8

Who doesn't love a lip balm? The twist up tube is handy for on the go application that is packed with nourishing shea butter and vitamin E which is pretty essential for the very cold weather we are having at the moment. My lips are always so awful this time of year, even with regular lip scrubs. So you can imagine my excitement when I realised that I had received another full sized product in my timeless beauty box this month.

Percy & Reed. Quite Frankly Flawless Finishing Polish | RRP £10

Before becoming a Birchbox subscriber I had never come across Percy & Reed before, but now I have become obsessed with their products and couldn't wait to try this finishing polish. Seeing as I am a mum to a fiesty three year old I pretty much rock the mum bun or ponytail but it most definitely needs to be smooth and tamed, I have those unruly wispy pieces of hair that need to be pulled back. Just a teeny dab of this finishing polish tames flyaways and adds a touch of shine without any greasiness and it's ideal for finishing any style.

Luseta. Coconut Milk Hair Mask | RRP £32

I'm sure that I am not alone when I say that I really over-style my hair with shampoos, conditioners, styling products and my poor hairdryer and straighteners have just about had it! Sadly, hair can be damaged quickly, but bringing it back to good health can take some time. But for me by having regular hair cuts, keeping the styling tools to a minimum can help, it's OK to let the bouffant dry naturally. But when I begin to see a few split ends I will switch my cleansing and styling products and use some that have been designed to help protect and restore damaged hair. So I was pretty excited about using this nourishing treatment that has been designed to repair and restructure once applied to damp hair after shampooing.

Laura Geller. Double Take Baked Versatile Power Foundation in Medium | RRP £28

This unique formula has been baked on a terracotta tile to lock in its long wear finish so you won't have to fuss with touch up through the day. For me, this was a little too dark for my skin but works so well as a contour though. When it comes to foundation I never normally to stick to one colour or type. So I will be able to work this into my daily makeup looks for sure.

Don't forget to check our review from last month:

A Hallmark Mother's Day and Itty Bittys

With Mother's Day just around the corner it makes complete sense to begin thinking about the special day. Mums are the best aren’t they? On Mother’s Day, we get to tell our mums, grandmas and any other influential mother figures in our lives, just how much we love and appreciate them by showering them with beautiful cards and gifts. Do you have any plans for Mother's Day? I must admit, since becoming a Mum to my beautiful little lady this is a celebration that I look forward to every year and now she's become quite the artist it's always interesting to see what masterpiece she has created for me. Usually for Mother's day we spend time exploring adventures as a family, with a visit to both our Mum's armed with cards, flowers and gifts. Hallmark are obviously one of the biggest suppliers of greetings cards, and this year they have a stunning range for Mother's Day.

Things Bloggers Are Sick of Hearing

As bloggers, we tend to get called over sharers. And I guess to some extent we are but I see my little ole blog as much more than a place to just 'overshare'. It's a place for me, a place where I feel I can express myself without judgement and a place where I feel most comfortable. However, I don't just write for me. I can never be thankful enough for all the opportunities that have come my way in the few years that I have hit the bloggersphere. I know that I am far from being a famous blogger like so many that I aspire to be but I take pride in knowing that my blog maybe helping someone somewhere, which it makes me feel amazing. And so as a blogger, a lot of friends, family and readers ask questions and say things that are sometimes a little annoying and tiresome. So today I thought I would tell you about some of the things that I am sick of hearing as a blogger.

It's not really a job though is it?

There are a LOT of misconceptions out there about how much money bloggers make, some are more successful than others of course, like all employment sectors. Most people just see most are taking photos, writing about them and making a few quid here or there. But listen up folks there is an opportunity to actually a decent wage with blogging, even if many don't consider it as 'a real job', IT IS. Blogging and social media influencing is definitely a job. Now it's certainly not easy to make money from blogging. I would probably say that most of us who do have blogs don't make a huge amount of money, or even consistent money. But with a lot of hard work, a lot of time and dedication this has become my job. Blogger, writer, influencer, whatever you want to call it. It's a money maker for lots of people. I have to say that I don't have the biggest following in this bloggersphere, but there are lots of people who follow me, take the time read my posts, send me emails to talk about my content on my blog and there are brands that want to collaborate. So YES it is a real job.

Bloggers will do anything for a freebie!!!

Now, I'm not going to sit here and write that I don't like a freebie. It's definitely one of the perks of blogging especially if it is something that I love or need. The idea that a blogger will do almost anything for a freebie to create a post really is annoying, because I don't know any blogger that will accept anything just because it's free. I remember the first time I started to receive freebies in the post, it was super exciting. But the thing is, soon enough I realised that these 'freebies' are not actually FREE. There's a lot of work that goes into creating content for a brand. Each and every brand that I have worked with has been completely different, their needs are different and so I have to cater to each and every one of them. It is by far from 'an easy gig', or 'takes a couple of photos and you're done'! I still accept some gifted items, but nowadays I am picky about accepting them than use to be. Does all the time, patience and effort for a post worth something that costs £2 worth it. Probably not.
You spend too much time on your phone.

Yes, I know I do. But don't we all spend quite a bit of time of our phones. Meanwhile you're probably scrolling through Facebook or giggling at a silly twitter spat (I am guilty of this too), I am busy on my phone trying to secure collaborations, answering emails, writing ideas down or just connecting with my readers, my fav part of being a blogger. My best ideas for blog posts normally enter my head at the most inconvenient times and so seeing as my phone is never too far from me, I like to make notes when I can. I really find it hard to switch off. There are days when the notifications on my phone are crazy and I find it absolute bliss when I turn them off. But there is always something that I could be doing creating content, photos to edit or comments to catch up on.

If I want free stuff, shall I start a blog too?

Uh, no. It takes hard work, a lot of time, dedication and a hell of a lot of promotion to even begin working with PRs and brands. Anyone can be a blogger but being an influencer means you have a platform, you create content, you get people to listen and they take action because of it.

Oh we love your blog, can you write a detailed blog post, provide imagery and we will post it on our social media for exposure?

This is probably the most insulting thing a brand can say to a blogger. When I get pitches like this, I don’t even respond. But let's think about this one for a minute. You found me on the internet, you're interested in working with me, you took the time to email me even started an email with my actual name (big brownie points). But instead of compensating me for my hard work, time, and influence you think offering the “chance” to be posted on your social media is going to secure a collaboration. Sorry, but no!

Your photography is great, can we share your photo on our social media and use on our website?

Everyone loves a compliment, I do especially if it has anything to do with my photography. But something that does annoy me is people using my content and images without asking. In cases working with brands where we have agreed that they have the rights to use my images for their promotional purposes then that's completely fine. However, if we didn't, then please ask. No one else has the right to use my images, royalty free. All content that I have created is mine. It is my licensed content and no one should be able to use them without permission and definitely not without giving me credit. I hate those requests in comments asking if we can regram or repost knowing it's probably from a Bot or dodge account. Now I totally understand that pretty pictures are basically what Instagram is all about and that it helps with likes, comments and engagement but always ask permission before using.

It must be so easy to work from home?

I have to say that working from home is one of the most challenging ways to work. When you think of home, you think of relaxing and fun. Home is where you family and friends are and thinking of home as a workplace changes things. Not forgetting that I also have a little threenager to keep me on my toes which is incredibly distracting. People are always quick to assume that working from home means a day in your pajamas, lazing on the sofa, drinking lots of tea and typing a couple of posts. Yes sure, there are some day when my little lady isn't at school and I will take full advantage of a pajama day, but it's not a good way for me to be productive and to stay focused though. I will wake up early, get fully ready for the day, and sit in my blogging space. My days also consist of errands, nursery drop offs and pickups, laundry and chores and anything else the day throws at me. So yes, it's pretty easy working from home!

Being a blogger has become my job and it's a money maker for lots of people. I have to say that I don't have the biggest following in this bloggersphere, but there are lots of people who follow me, take the time read my posts, send me emails to talk about my content on my blog. But I am certainly not doing this for the freebies, or because I can just be lazy and sit on the sofa all day. Believe it or not, my schedule is pretty demanding as a blogger. But nothing makes me smile more than receiving lovely comments on my blog, positive messages, or someone sharing my posts. I guess I could go on and on but I am going to stop there and hand it over to you guys - As bloggers, what are some of the things you are sick of hearing all the time???

Pink Parcel - February 2018: It's a Monthly Thing

Let's face it periods suck!

Women don't generally like talk about their periods, but it's something that us ladies have to deal with every single month and personally it's the part of the month that I cannot wait to see the end of. Let's face it periods suck! Even though this may be the case it is something that we have to prepare for, practically and emotionally. You spend about a week before your period being emotional and hormonal and then when your period actually makes an appearance your mood swings are kicked up a notch or five making you feel grumpy and tired. Last month I made a little discovery in the form of a little subscription box from Pink Parcel that will help ease those mood swings, be practical and soon become something that I look forward to every month.

If you’re new to Pink Parcel it’s a subscription service for your monthly cycle who send you what you need, right when you need it as well as some lovely treats to brighten up those days of the month. With three dispatch dates to choose from, Pink Parcel literally take care of everything and will ship your box before your period is due. If you’re worried about flows and absorbencies, they have that covered too as you can choose your preferred brand as well as the type of sanitary items to suit your flow making it completely bespoke to your needs.

I must admit I was really looking forward for my parcel arriving. It was a letter box sized with a pale grey and pink theme throughout and inside contain lots of little boxes and even a bag. All separate for me to use as and when I need them. A box for you, a box for night, a cotton bag and a box for later. For my subscription, I chose a mixture of pads and tampons too use throughout the month and there are more than enough. Without further ado here’s what you can expect to see inside this month’s Pink Parcel.

For you - a little something to cheer you up

Wow this little box jam packed full of goodies that are perfect, actually a necessity to see you through the mood swings and pains with periods. I must say I thoroughly enjoyed going through this box and finding some products that I have been meaning to try. For me the beauty picks stood out the most with a shimmering bronzer, primer, a nourishing mask and herbal balm to calming tea and oh so crunchy chocolate. So let's take a closer look.

Doisy & Dam, Maple, toasted rice and pink salt dark chocolate | RRP £1.75

Who doesn't love chocolate this time of the month? Personally, it's an essential that I like to indulge in every month. So when I opened the box to discover the bright yellow and red packaging, I was intrigued. I don’t really like dark chocolate but it’s meant to be better for you. This one is made in the UK and is vegan and gluten and soya free. It has a nice crunch to it from the toasted rice and the pink salt really sweetens the chocolate which makes it a lot nicer than normal dark chocolate. You can really taste the cocoa, so if you're a fan of dark chocolate you will love this one.

Yuyo, Yerba Zing Tea bag | RRP £4.35 for 14.

Being a self certified tea addict I was only too pleased to see this in my box. Normally this time of the month I swear by a cup of chamomile tea to help ease the pains and bloating that comes with periods. This one from Yuyo is a blend  of grapefruit and rosehip and is packed full of antioxidants.

Emily Victoria, Candle Wax Melt in Chocolate Chip | RRP £1.25

I'm obsessed with candle wax melts so I was happy to see this in the box. But a chocolate chip wax melt, yes please! I couldn't wait to try this and in a nutshell it's amazing. The scent smelt gorgeously chocolatey, not at all artificial and lasted for hours and hours. I can’t wait to check out more of these. I quite like the packaging, it’s simple and easy to recycle. It does feel a little thin but I think for the price it’s expected. They have loads of different scents so I might have a look at trying a different one.

Scentered, Love Luxury Mini Therapy Balm | £14.50 for full size.

At first I thought that it was a lip balm, yep it's not! This gorgeously scented roll-on is packed full of rose, cedar wood and patchouli essential oils. A comforting and calming balm to warm the heart and restore inner peace. Reach for LOVE when you are feeling overwhelmed, emotionally drained or simply out of sorts. A beautiful fragrance to relax and unwind with. This is not something that I am not very familiar with but I did find that it had such a calming effect when placed on my wrists.

Evelyn Iona Costmetics, Green Tea Primer | RRP £28

Do you use a Primer? I have only recently started to use a primer. Before this, I thought that it was a waste of money - how wrong was I? A make-up primer is one little gem that I will no longer go without as there are so many benefits to using one. A primer can help make your pores smaller, soften your skin, helps your make-up look better lasts much longer. I have been using L'Oréal Paris Primer and I can only tell you good things about it. I must admit I have become a little obsessed with primers and cannot wait to try this green tea primer. Prep and protect your skin with this hydrating, antioxidant-rich, skin-friendly formula made with Organic Green Tea. It creates a smooth canvas for makeup application, reduces the look of lines and pores and will help your makeup last!

Hikari Cosmetics, Shimmer Bronzer in Luster | RRP £13

I don't know about you, but I am completely done with winter and can't wait to welcome the warmer weather and those sun kissed make up looks. This quad consisted of 4 beautiful and highly pigmented shades that could be mixed together for a pretty shimmery bronzed look or applied separately as eyeshadows. The bronzer I received in the box unfortunately arrived smashed to pieces but customer services were great and they sent out a replacement one for me which came they next day!

Vitamasques, Manuka Honey Hydrating + Moisturising Sheet Mask | RRP £12.99 for 4.

I must admit, face masks are something that I tend to avoid because my skin is super sensitive and I always worry I may have a reaction. But this one looks as if it's going to be kind to my skin. Boasting anti-inflammatory and moisturising properties, spotty skin will be banished to reveal a nourished healthy glow that will leave you buzzing with excitement (see what I did there). This mask felt so luxurious and left my skin feeling so soft and glowing for days afterwards without any reactions. WOO!

For night - to use at bedtime

There's nothing worse than having to wake up during the night to change a sanitary towel, so I always like to have a couple of night time pads to see me through the month. This box was fully equipped with some night time sanitary towels. These ones are slightly more absorbent and longer.

For now - a cotton bag for everyday.

In the Pink Parcel subscription box you also get a cute cotton bag to use, I think that this is a pretty inventive idea as there's nothing worse that your child going into your handbag to pull out your tampons. So I will be able to disguise them very well with this cotton pull string bag. Inside the bag was a couple of tampons and panty liners, perfect for on the go.

For later - It's a monthly thing.

The last box that came in my pink parcel was a slightly larger boxes equipped with  a bunch of tampons that would be more than sufficient to last the entire month and probably a few for the following month.

I have really enjoyed this month’s box and I’m so glad that I came across this little Pink Parcel. Have you ever tried Pink Parcel before? It fantastic value for money at only £12.99 a month, I have to say. Fancy getting 20% off your first Pink Parcel? Simply enter 'PP20' at the check out and you're good to go. Every girl needs a Pink Parcel in their life.

The Most Indulgent Evening with Olverum

Life with a child that is well and truly into the throes of the threenagers years can be hard work. That along with the unforgiving wind and rain getting indoors after a long day is something that I really look forward to. There is nothing quite like planning an indulgent evening once in a while, it is something that we all need to do more of, but as parents it's so hard right? I know that my three year old daughter keeps me on my toes most of the time and by the time she goes to bed I am too tired to want to have me time, but even so, I need to make time to rest and recuperate. The best way to begin an indulgent evening is with a long relaxing soak in the bath, to help ease your aching muscles with Olverum Bath Oil.

Before we begin to talk about the Olverum Bath Oil itself, let's talk about the packaging. It’s a simple design in a glass embossed bottle. Inside the box is a small leaflet which gives a brief history of Olverum, instructions on how to use the bath oil and the ingredients list. Olverum also doesn’t test on animals, which makes this bath oil even more appealing. The essential oils used include Rosemary, Siberian Fir Needle, Lavender, Eucalyptus, Lemon Peel, Juniper, Lime, Lavandin, Exotic Verbena and Geranium Flower, which all come together to form a scent that is very relaxing.

The Olverum Bath Oil is a unique and luxurious aromatic blend of essential oils. With just a few drops in your bath, these carefully chosen extracts combine to help ease stress and relax tension in both mind and body, bringing you back to your complete and natural self. This highly concentrated, therapeutic bath oil contains 10 pure essential oils, carefully blended to work together. It is a very effective way to naturally relieve stress and to help you achieve a good nights’ sleep. The story of Olverum is as rich and rare as the oil itself, involving a family secret carried for decades, and several lifetimes of passion and specialist knowledge. The formulation has remained largely unchanged for 87 years, so they know they stuff when it comes to bath oils. As far as claims go, Olverum Bath Oil makes quite a few. According to its packaging, it’s pampering, therapeutic, comforting, soothing and relaxing. If it does all that, it’ll be at the top of our my list for the most indulgent evenings.

After a full on week with nursery runs in the rain, errands, deadlines and meetings. As a result I have not been getting much sleep either, with midnight wake up calls because the lady has found a spider on her pillow, (it was just a bad dream). I was beginning to feel as if it's catching up with me and I am full on grumpy at the moment, so an indulgent evening is definitely on the cards. A little goes a long way, only needing a cap full for a bath and my bathroom is immediately filled with a strong scent, making me feel more at ease and definitely relaxed. After an an hour in candle light bath and no noise as the threenager is sleeping it was time to get out of the tub and see if this bath oil actually helps with my sleep. Frankly, I did sleep better than I have ever done before. I didn't even hear my daughter during the night, my husband said she got up a couple of times. So my sleep must have been deep and by the time morning came around I didn't really want to get out. So the answer is pretty well by all accounts.

In a nutshell, this Olverum Bath Oil is pretty amazing. And it is something that I would repurchase, however I think that will be some time before that happens. But if you do make one purchase this month or you are thinking about something a little more indulgent for your Mum for Mother's Day then look no further that this little bottle of oil. It's one purchase I can assure you, you won't regret.

A Simply Beautiful Fragrance for Mother's Day

Let's face it, Mums are the best aren’t they? On Mother’s Day, we get to tell our mums, grandmas and any other influential mother figures in our lives, just how much we love and appreciate them by showering them with beautiful gifts. One of the best gifts that I have received as a mother was some beautiful perfume and this is something that I like to get my own mother and mother-in-law. Fragrances are something that a lot of mothers love receiving. Choosing a scent can be difficult at times, but it can be fuss-free if you know what she likes. Fragrance Direct has made it even easier for you with their thoughtful gift section, and this year they are running a campaign around gifting fragrances rather than flowers this Mother's Day, and I'm totally down with this. Don't get me wrong, I love flowers especially if they are pretty pink peonies or tulips, but they don't last long in my house. So a new fragrance is always something I like to open up on Mother's Day. Are you on board with Fragrance Direct and their #BuyFragranceNotFlowers campaign for your mum?

For me, anything with a floral and fruity scent is up my street, and so with a little help from Fragrance Direct it was super easy to select a couple that would be perfect for me and the mums in our families. The one that stood out the most was one from Chloé in a 50ml bottle because it would last me a long time, certainly longer than flowers that's for sure. But I also like the fact that these are not too expensive as some indulgent perfumes can be super expensive.

Chloé Signature Eau De Parfum 50ml is a perfume that makes me feel classy. Can we just take a moment to appreciate its beautiful bottle? A unique bottle with a timeless design to make anyone feel classy and looks so beautiful on any dressing table, it also had a cute beige ribbon around the neck of the lid to make it more appealing. I must admit, I would probably have got some for myself, just for the pretty bottle. My first thought is that the perfume is incredibly romantic and sensual, but it also feels very carefree. There’s a magnolia note that adds a welcomed floral pop that provides a lovely compliment to the rose and peony, almost as if you turned the rose petals into a cake decoration. After a little while, a light woody accord seems to weave in and out of the perfume which helps to balance out the sweetness of the florals. As the perfume continues to develop, it begins to grow as does the sweetness and the powder. But in no way does overpower or overwhelm. Instead, it maintains this pretty peony spring like freshness. There’s no better way to treat your Mum this Mother’s Day than with a gorgeous, luxurious present in the form of this simply beautiful fragrance Chloé Signature Eau De Parfum. It is available in different sizes 20ml, 30ml, 50ml, and 75ml so whether you wanted to buy a bottle so she can pop it into her handbag or want to splurge there's a size for everyone.

However, if a new fragrance is not for your mum, then you still need to go and have a little browse over at Fragrance Direct, as they have more than just perfume on their site. I must admit, I have a few products in a basket already because they have a beautiful range of beauty products and the prices are simply amazing, it would be silly not to. Have you picked out a Mother’s Day gift yet?

MEMI Makeup Collection: First Impressions

Minimal makeup is something that I really love at the moment, as the nursery run can be bad enough without worrying about applying makeup. So it's all about the five minute makeup routine in the mornings, ensuring I hide those tired mama dark circles and add a rose tint to my cheeks. I do love trying to be creative with my eyes look too, and I wanted to share a brand new makeup brand with you that I have recently discovered MEMI Make Up.

There is nothing like a beautiful premium product to make a girl feel special, and so MEMI have made it their mission to create an extensive range of luxury, affordable products for real girls who want to look naturally pulled together. With the mission in mind, MEMI bring an exclusive collection of beauty products and we were lucky enough to be able to try their millennial eye shadow palette and their radiance highlighter. Before we get into the first impressions, can we just take a minute to appreciate the gorgeous packaging, it's simple but pretty out there. Each and every product has been designed in a way that makes the the brand MEMI stand out, in a silver mirror casing with simple and minimalist font ensuring that you can recognise the MEMI brand. But what makes this brand even better is the fact that their collections are cruelty free and some of their products are even vegan friendly.

Come on who doesn't love a new eye shadow palette? So many of us who love new makeup and creating different makeup looks just love brand new palettes. So why not unleash your inner millennial with this amazing collection of 12 pigment rich matte and shimmer finish shadows. This palette is by far my favourite as it offers a range of surprising different range of neutral hues that you can mix and match to create some beautiful looks. As you can see each shade is aptly named to know it’s core audiences interests, ranging from the bold ‘Boss Bitch’ and 'Iconic' to the more universally friendly '90’s Baby and 'Focus'. The shades are very pigmented and are not too thick in consistency. The powder leaves a decent amount on the lid upon application, with a little fall down but nothing too devastating to clean up, that something I actually hate. When you try adding a shade to the lid but more drops off the brush and onto clothing that the actual eyelid. I do have to say I really like the way that some of the shade leave a velvet matte finish, my favourite shade are '90s Baby', 'Iconic' and 'Focus' due to their neutral hues and they all leave a beautiful high shimmer finish. MEMI Makeup also have two other best selling palettes, 'Matte Muse' and 'Creative Control'.

Another product that I was so excited to try was the MEMI Radiance Highlighter in Lemon Drops, seriously in love with this colour and what a cute name. This highlighter has iridescent pearl pigments and light reflecting particles leaving an instant luminous glow with a warm tone and comes in a good size too. Now a highlighter is not always something that I grab when I am looking for an everyday look, however if I do have time to play with makeup and have enough patience to add eyeliner too then I will use a highlighter. I really like this one, it offers more of a shine than a glisten which is perfect for a subtle glow appearance, no one want to look like Edward Cullen! But this highlighter is super pigmented and gives just the perfect illusion of a shine, that's not too much. The highlighter powder comes in six different shade which is perfect to suit different skin tones, the other colours that I would love to try would be 'Europhoria' and 'Dreamy'.

First Look: The Benefit BADgal BANG! Mascara

Big news! Benefit have finally launched their brand new mascara BADgal BANG! This is Benefit's biggest launch for the last couple of years and well? It's been worth the wait. Let's face it, Benefit are known for the game changing mascaras, but does their brand new mascara live up to the hype? A mascara that’s all about gravity defying volume that lasts. So let's find out!

BADgal BANG! 36-HOUR FULL-BLAST volumising mascara creates MASSIVE volume without weighing down lashes. The gravity-defying formula contains aero-particles, one of the lightest known materials, derived from space technology. This innovative intense pitch-black mascara layers easily for bigger & BIGGER impact. It's custom big Slimpact! brush is streamlined to reach root-to-tip, corner-to-corner, upper & lower lashes for BIG VOLUME WITH 360° REACH! Yes please. You could say that over the years I have tried so many different mascaras and I know what I like. I always look for a great formula, a plastic brush and a mascara that gives me luscious eyelashes without clumps or panda eyes! Let's find out if this BADgal Bang! mascara can be that mascara?

It has wonderful matt-rubber feel, with a chunky lid that clicks tight shut. Now normally when it comes to packaging with a mascara I'm not overly fussed. I'm more interested in the impact of the mascara itself, however this mascara is very unique with a studded lid, how can I not talk about it? Personally I really like the jet black and the pink metallic writing, it works so well and my eyes were certainly drawn to the packaging. It something that I have never seen before and I think it makes the mascara even more appealing? What do you think?

The formula is super thick, silky and wet, ensuring that it glides through each and every lash without clogging or weighing them down. This also means that this formula helps gets lots of length and curl. There's nothing worse than clumpy mascara that does absolutely nothing for your eyelashes. The gravity-defying formula contains aero-particles, one of the lightest known materials, derived from space technology making lashes feel lightweight even if more than one coat is applied. The colour is a deep velvety black and stays that way all day. I don't know about you, I have found with some black mascara after a couple of months the formula tends to go flaky and the colour fades. I know I can't guarantee whether this fade or flake, but the colour is without a doubt jet black!!!

When it comes to choosing a mascara I always choose a plastic wand rather than one with bristles. So my favourite thing about BADgal Bang! is actually the brush. It’s super flexible in a neat conical shape to get right into those tiny lashes at the inner and outer corners of eyes. It seems to pick up just the right amount of product without overloading my lashes, so I am only need one or two coats. Benefits BADgal Bang! wand contains over 300 plastic bristles both small and large in a slight cone shape the brush is able to coat all the lashes with ease. The flexible wand moves on contact with the lashes so no pressure is needed. It reminds me of my L'Oreal Telescopic wand, so in my book this Benefit one is a winner!

I was super excited to try this mascara but I followed the recommendations to get the best results. Benefit recommends wiggling the brush from base of lashes to the tip. Applying one coat to both eyes and repeating as desired to build bigger volume. While the results of wiggling the brush gave instant lengthening and a bit of volume it did transfer onto the base of my eyelashes. But a quick fix and I was ready to go. For me, I have to say that the difference this mascara made to my bottom lashes was amazing. I am always a little scared to apply any mascara on my lower lashes, for fear of becoming a panda in a couple of hours. This BADgal Bang mascara gave the impact that I have waited to so long to achieve without panda eyes! Yes!

This is definitely a mascara for me! I do think Benefit are onto something with the lightweight formula, which was totally refreshing to not feel like there was anything on my lashes, and it does offer amazing wear time! I am totally in love with this wand as it creates such a great look with my lashes, especially the bottom ones. I have yet to try this mascara on fake eyelashes, but I can't help but think that due to it's lightweight formula it's not going to be a problem. In a nutshell, you need to try this gravity defying volume mascara, for me it's an all round winner! Will you be trying this Benefit BADgal BANG! mascara? Don't forget you can purchase Benefit’s BADgal Bang mascara at Debenhams.
