Hello, I'm back with my monthly round-up post for February. It's really no surprise that we are already in March, we've had a super busy month. But I'm definitely more welcoming to the warmer weather and looking forward to seeing all the beautiful flowers that come in Spring time. I don't know about you but I feel so much happier and brighter when the sun makes an appearance and seeing all those beautiful blue skies. So let's see what we got up this month...
Work
Some of you may know that we have been hosting a guest post series on the blog Motherhood Mondays and it's been quite popular. But a few of the guest posts I have been receiving have been based on baby feeding and so this month we have introduced 'The Baby Feeding Series'. I'm excited about it, it's something that really interests me and one that is sure to get people talking. We have been offered a few opportunities this month so be sure to come back to see what we have in store, all I will say is that March is a month where I'm feeling generous. Keep your eyes peeled.
Aside from all the things to come, I have had a few thoughts...
Blogging has become too much of a competition lately. With many of us being offered similar opportunities and asking for traffic to a similar post, I have been struggling to stand out from the sea of amazing bloggers. I'm in what I call a blogging slump. I have been feeling downhearted with my blog and for the first time since becoming a blogger I am finding myself questioning whether blogging is right for me. Now don't get me wrong I adore blogging, I love writing and love nothing more than sharing the adventures with my little girl. But I have seen another side to blogging and I am not entirely sure that I am ready for that, just yet.
There's nothing more inspiring than watching your peers reach their goals and their achievements, if anything it can actually helps me want to push my blog that much further and more importantly encourage others to do so. But I have seen that in the wonderful world of blogging there is another side, a side that fills everyone with doubt, a side that makes us believe that we are not good enough and that we won't ever be! Self-doubt has been rearing its ugly little head. The worst enemy to creativity is self-doubt. I have been comparing myself to other bloggers, constantly checking my stats, having a meltdown because someone has decided to play the follow, unfollow game on Instagram. In the midst of all the self-doubt the side of blogging that I love is the great sense of community who have made me realise that I do have a voice and that it's just as important. I need to snap out of this slump I'm in. These lovely people have made me realise my worth, realised that my voice is important and that they have been in the same boat at one time or another. So my focus for the upcoming month is try to feel more positive about my blog and remember the reason why I'm here...
Family
The start of the month was a very busy one for us as a family. The yearly fun fair arrived and we thought that now our daughter is two and half that she may be old enough to enjoy the lights, the rides and the atmosphere. We braved the fair without the pushchair and I am grateful that we didn't to be honest because it seemed as if we went to the fair on the busiest day. Our daughter did fabulously walking around in complete awe of the lights and all the people, she kept called the fair 'fireworks' because she is associating the lights and the rides with fire work night, completely adorable. But as I assumed she wouldn't go on anything, she's not completely sure of motion rides, the only ride that she has ever like was a horse that we discovered on our holiday to Butlin's . We came away with a plush duck, a Paw Patrol cup, sweets and candy floss so all in all a great day.
This month also saw that day of love! We normally agree to dodge this day because a month later we celebrate our wedding anniversary. We also agreed to not bother, but every year my husband makes me feel like a right plonker when I wake up to a card, flowers, chocolate, a brand new kindle and he wakes up to a card. It doesn't bother him but I had some serious making up to do. Next year I will make a fuss and I will be not listening to his 'we won't bother this year' speech. In the midst of love we have been making some plans for the Spring and Summer which we are excited about. Our anniversary is just around the corner and we did make plans to spend some time away but family life and work life got in the way. But my husband has assured me that we will be going on our yearly date night. While we are on the subject, I have no clue what to get my husband for our fourth anniversary. None whatsoever. We normally get each other presents according to what the year represents and so this year its either linen, or fruit and flowers. I'm not the greatest at gift giving, actually I'm pretty crap! All help is appreciated! Another great part of February is the wonderful day that is PANCAKE DAY! I hope you didn't forget yours?
Potty training is something else that we have been taking on this month and I think that we are finally at the last hurdle. It's been a difficult journey and one that is not over. Our daughter amazes and yes I still clap like seal when she does a poo on the potty. I don't think you can fully understand the excitement of pooping on a potty until you have a child. Soon enough our daughter won't be needing nappies and it's only hit me but that will be the last of the baby-ness. Where has my baby girl gone? She amazes me and make me so proud of her, but I have to kind of get over the fact that she's not a baby anymore but a little girl. God only knows what I will be like come September when she will actually be going to pre-school. I'm going to be unbearable that first morning, I know I am.
Home
Spring is just around the corner and I am so happy about that. It's my favourite time of year. Nothing makes me happier than seeing all the beautiful colourful flowers and the sun appear. I am sure I am not the only one who is glad to see the back of the bitter winter, I know my husband will be grateful for a smaller heating bill! We didn't spend much time on the house this month, but over the last few weeks we have been making plans for some exciting developments that will soon be unfolded. We have been making plans for our garden, last year we had a big project where we had a complete overhaul in our garden and have some fencing as a partition to make the garden more appealing, OK that's a fib! It was a way to stop the dog from pooping on the grass and digging the rose bushes up. The little bugger!

So try to focus on what is 'you' and don't worry about the stats if you can. Yay for your little girl on the potty! I totally know why you are saying about cheering for poops on the potty - only a parent will ever really get that! x
