Classic Afternoon Tea for Two with Piglets Pantry

Afternoon tea is a long-running British tradition, dating back to the early 18th century when it was used to bridge the gap between the two main meals of the day, lunch and dinner. But something that will never change about us brits is our love of an indulgent afternoon tea spread and remains an extremely popular tradition.

Afternoon Tea is my absolute FAVOURITE and something that my daughter enjoys too. We like to get all dressed up and head out to one of our favourite placed to spend quality time together doing something that we both enjoy. Our Thoughts on the Afternoon Tea

An Afternoon Tea being delivered to your home is a fantastic concept, and on that I can definitely get behind. You can enjoy all the delicious indulgent treats in the comfort of your home without travelling or getting dressed up. Everything was package up all in a pretty pink box with a set of instructions for cooking times, which was very simple and straightforward to follow.

Putting on an afternoon tea spread at home should feel like a special event so it’s worth going the extra mile to make the experience feel as luxurious as possible. Choose a cosy corner of your home where you can comfortably sit for at least a couple of hours. Then dig out your best tablecloth and place mats to set the table in style with all your finest crockery and cake stand. Pinkies at the ready...

Even though this was tea for two, we decided to cut everything into threes for two adults and a child -we had more than enough to indulge in. We started with the hot food which was so good and we could tell pretty much straightaway that the ingredients were really great quality. The sausage rolls were by far our favourite, with the homemade scotch eggs coming in second. We then moved onto the sweeter treats, which would be the scones (still slightly warm, of course) and then finally onto the array of cakes. Oh, they were so scrumptious.

The cakes were a really good size and with the scones it was quite a lot for one person to eat in one sitting, so it was a good thing that there were three of us indulging in afternoon tea. The carrot cake was my favourite and the lemon loaf was my daughter's favourite. The scones are plain scones, much to my daughter's delight as she not always a fan of raisins, but they were lovely warmed up and the clotted cream and jam were the perfect sized portions.

In a nutshell, we absolutely loved the Piglets Pantry Classic Afternoon Tea for Two. My nanna loves an afternoon tea so we have arrange a gift card to be sent out to her so she can enjoy one on her birthday so she can celebrate with my aunt at home. You can order direct from Piglets Pantry for £30 with a £5.99 postage.
