Moments To Remember - Our First Snow Day

Snow days are pretty amazing, aren't they? There was nothing quite like waking up to a sheet of snow outside of the window, going downstairs to switch on the radio to listen out for any school closure announcements. Eagerly waiting for your school to be mentioned and getting excited at the prospect of a whole day playing in the snow. Fast forward a few years and not seeing snow for so long you can imagine my excitement when there was a possible snow day ahead. As my little lady is now in nursery listening for closure announcements on the radio is a thing of the past, it's all about texts and checking social media. Soon enough, we received a text letting us know the day is ours. Jumping around singing and dancing about it being a snow day is something unheard of with the little lady as she has never, ever seen snow. I was told to calm down, sit down it's only snow. Little did she know all the great things that come with the snow.

I think this snow day has made me love the outside so much more than I already do, it makes everything look so pretty including my house and garden. Everything looks as if it's straight out of a Christmas card but being able to warm up with copious amounts of hot chocolate was perfect ending to a snow day. We decided to forget about all the things we needed to do and simply enjoy the moment. We grabbed our wellies, coats and hats and headed out into the sheet of white and lived the moment and as with everything I managed to capture them too.

Have you been enjoying the snow? Did you manage to build a snow man? Our one was very small, it was hard to roll the snow as it was so powdery and fluffy. But our one is called Olaf, shocker really. But apparently she's a girl.

  6. Ah, gorgeous! We've had 3 snow days here this week, the boys have done lots of sledging but it's too powdery to build a decent snowman. And the wind is horrendous! Looks like you had a great time.
