It's November and that means it's officially birthday month, and yes it's totally a thing. I love November and especially as this month's gorgeous beauty treat from GLOSSYBOX and their Beauty SOS box. This month's box is jam packed full of must have essentials that come to your rescue, and this time of year my skin suffers badly trying to battle the elements. This month even includes something a little extra so you can smell absolutely gorgeous for party season. This little box will most definitely come to your rescue if you have a night out, a Christmas work party or you need a boost in the morning, GLOSSYBOX have you covered. This month there is two full sized products from Huda Beauty and Stylondon Beauty and a few cute deluxe minis too.

If you're new to Glossybox, it's a monthly subscription box that comes packed with both full sized products that cover all areas of beauty from skin care, hair, nails, makeup and everything else in between from brands we all love to those new discoveries that we wouldn't normally get to try if it wasn't for Glossybox. Each box costs £13.25 per month and contains contents that are always over the cost of the box. In a nutshell, you get a box full of goodies all for that monthly price.

Huda Beauty. Liquid Matte Lipstick in Girlfriend. RRP | £18

Huda Beauty’s Liquid Matte lipstick collection are among the most sought-after liquid lipsticks because of their high quality, amazing shade range, and affordability. You can trust Huda Kattan’s taste and expertise on this one, so you know you’re getting your money’s worth. So to see this in my box made me squeal a little as it's completely gorgeous! The lightweight formula glides on a thin coat of color that intensifies as it sets to a matte, transfer-free finish with amazing staying power. This shade 'Girlfriend' is the prettiest nude I've yet to find and it doesn't wash me out at all, so for all you ladies looking for that perfect, subtle nude shade, go and try it out.

Context. Micro-Derm Regenerator. RRP | £27

A two-in-one cleanser and gentle exfoliator enhanced with the same crystals used in professional microdermabrasion treatments. Soothes and purifies skin as it effectively cleanses. Polishes and removes dead skin cells. Powerful antioxidants combine to protect cells and fight free radical damage. Plus, it’s in a handy 30ml bottle that fits perfectly in your handbag to use every morning, no matter where the night takes you. I would probably recommended applying it once a day by gently massaging the gel onto your wet skin, by using slow circular motions to lather the exfoliating particles deeper into your skin – it’ll polish and remove any dull and dry cells. When you’re done exfoliating, rinse thoroughly with warm water. You can then apply moisturiser. It's been a lovely addition to my skincare routine.

STYLondon. Eaton Eyeshadow Palette. RRP | £10

OMG! This is the cutest palette and what gorgeous shades! Perfect for party season. You have nine high quality shades in this palette which include 6 metallics and 3 mattes. The shades are highly pigmented and blend really well on me. I love the red and bronze metallic shades most. This is a nice sized palette for a purse of make-up bag too. The eye shadows are mineral based, paraben free, animal cruelty free, high pigment, eyeshadow palettes with added Vitamin E. These shades are super soft, easily blend-able powder and you can create some of the cutest autumnal and Christmas looks.

Your Good Skin. Balancing Skin Concentrate. RRP | £17

Restores & maintains skin's natural balance. This little gem has been designed to improve the five signs of healthy looking skin; skin texture, skin tone evenness, radiance, moisture levels & oiliness. Simply use two pumps into the palm of your hand and dot across your cheeks, chin and forehead then gently blend together. You only need a couple of pumps to cover your full face so this bottle will last over another couple of uses. After using it morning and night for a week I started noticing my skin feeling softer and looking brighter. The laughter lines and fine wrinkles around my eyes started smoothing over and my large pores were less noticeable.

Living Proof. Restore Mask Treatment. RRP | £10

My hair really struggles in the colder weather, anyone else? Seeing as it's birthday month just means I have a few excuses for a mask treatment or two. I will enjoy pulling that birthday card a few nights a week. This deeply conditioning mask treatment repairs dry, damaged hair by nourishing each strand, leaving hair visibly healthier, stronger, and shinier. This is 100% the best hair mask I have ever used. This hair mask stopped breakage, moisturised my hair so it was no longer brittle and dry. Holy grail of hair products! I will try and use this hair mask once a week to get my hair in a healthy condition again.

Chloé Nomade. RRP | £47

I adore everything from Chloé, the Chloé Eau de Parfum is one of my favourites. This one is like nothing actually own. A combination of oak moss and freesia that captures the spirit of a woman open to the beauty world. I love it! It smells fresh and light. Not too overpowering and perfect for day wear in the office or on a weekend patio. It would be a lovely alternative to my normal scents especially when I feel like mixing it up.

Disney On Ice Dream Big Tour

I have a confession and I am sure I am not the only one, but I love Disney, like actually love Disney. A love for Disney is something that never really goes away, if anything it grows. Whenever I think about Disney it takes me back to my childhood and the fond memories of love, magic and fairy tales. Now that I have my own daughter I want the magic to continue. As a child I would love nothing more than have cuddles on the sofa with my parents and sister on Sunday afternoon to watch Disney films, and this is something that I really enjoy doing with my husband and daughter. Even at four years old she knows a thing or two about being a Disney fan as we are making our way through the collection of classics. I think that's what I love about Disney is that it's for all families of all ages, there is something for everyone. My daughter is in complete awe of the Disney princesses, one in particular is by far her favourite. Princess Rapunzel!
So you can imagine our excitement when we found out that Disney On Ice is back this year with their Dream Big Tour. Fairytales and Legends are full of magic, enchantment and adventures and going to see Disney on Ice would be an adventure that we couldn't miss out on. There is something truly magical about watching your child's eyes lighting up and being completely in awe of their smiles and giggles meeting their favourite characters. However, I couldn't wait to share our next adventure with her, I know that going on the Dream Big tour is going to make her year.

Disney On Ice Dream Big

For the first time in Europe, join fearless Moana and the greatest demigod that ever lived, Maui, on an action-packed voyage to restore the stolen heart of Te Fiti, live on ice! Get tangled up in Rapunzel’s hair-raising quest to see the floating lights. Travel to mountainous Arendelle with Anna, Elsa and Olaf in a dramatic retelling of the sisterly love that saved a kingdom. And discover the strength, bravery and kindness that inspired generation after generation with Jasmine, Ariel, Aurora, Belle and Cinderella. Plus, arrive early to join a special 90th birthday celebration in honour of Walt Disney’s ‘True Original,’ Mickey Mouse.

We cannot wait for our little adventure to go and see Disney on Ice Dream Big in Nottingham later this month. I know it will be a show that you will not want to miss, so go and book your tickets now and make their dreams come true. Our review will be coming soon, so don't forget to come back.

And don't forget to dream big....

A Birthday Hamper for Him.

October is always a really busy month for us with birthdays, Halloween and all the pumpkin madness. And November isn't any different. It's just as busy, just as crazy and full of family birthdays, including yours truly. November has become to be known as birthday month, it's definitely a thing by the way. However, this year we have a very special birthday as my husband is turning 30! And with a birthday comes a cute birthday gift guide.

You might have landed up here to find the best gift options for your husband or boyfriend, but I think it can quite challenging getting something for the men in your life. They never know what they want! It's so frustrating. If they do want something, they end up buying it weeks before their birthday and just as you're about to unleash your inner 'how dare you?' stare you remember it's their birthday soon. So what do you think a thirty-year-old man would love for their birthday. Do you think an Xbox game, a tipple or socks? Perhaps not socks because let's face it Christmas is coming so they will be more than equipped. As it's my husband's 30th I thought that it would be a cute idea to get him a computer game and a couple of other gifts to go into a little hamper.

The Fragrance

Now this is a gift that you can't go wrong with, so if you're looking for inspiration for a fragrance get him something that he hasn't tried before. Head over to the closest fragrance shop and enjoy a spritz or two. Both my husband and I had a rare morning together the other week and we headed into town for breakfast and we ended up in Debenhams and had a spritz off and ended smelling amazing. My husband loves Paca Rabanne or Hugo Boss but seeing as it's birthday and I wanted to fill his basket of treats I picked up this Firetrap one for less than £15 for a gift set, so I couldn't really go wrong.

The Tipple

Well you can't really celebrate turning 30 without a tipple or two. The Summerton Club is a premium spirits subscription service. You can choose from a monthly, bi-monthly or quarterly subscription where you will receive a beautifully-aged bottle of whisky, brandy or rum delivered directly to your doorstep. The perfect gift for my husband for his 30th birthday. I love that these are not ordinary bottles you will find at the supermarket, each bottle is carefully selected and that extra bit special. Some bottles aren’t even available to purchase in the UK yet and all deliveries sent out are worth more than the membership fee. The Summerton Club pride themselves in not only providing great value for money but a taste experience that any drink connoisseur will appreciate and love.

The Style

When it comes to the men in our life we have to consider their personal style. I adore this Globenfeld Super Sport Metal Men’s Watch they will most definitely stand out from the crowd and get noticed. Globenfeld have designed a Super Sport Series to improve on its overall toughness and masculine style. Featuring a 51mm case, adjustable stainless steel comfort band, and scratch resistant mineral crystal glass make it large and noticeable yet durable and comfortable without being too heavy or disruptive. Extra sports features give you the practical functions to go along with your sophisticated sense of style. You’ll look and play the part in the boardroom, on the track, and everywhere in between. Now my husband is pretty picky when it comes to his clothes. But I guess being with him over ten years you could say that I have got to know his style a little and I have found the perfect t-shirt for him that I know that he will love. This Dobell Navy Peacoat is perfect for those causal looks but can be great for a smarter look with chinos for a date night. Dobell is a great place to discover so many great brands at brilliant prices.

The Gadgets

Most men love gadgets, so this is sure to be a safe bet for sure. Nextbase, the leading provider of Dash Cams offer a great range of products that would be a great idea for any drivers in the family. Regardless of the popularity of Dash Cams as a gadget, the 112 model is affordable, effective, a great gift to buy any driver. The 112 is compact, easy to use, and records stunning 720p HD footage. It boasts a variety of features. The Four Element Sharp Lenses, made with four layers of glass, delivers clear images and the photo mode allows you to take still images for further evidence. It small and compact and can be easily stored snugly into your car. What's more, for Nextbase are offering up to 25% off all of their Dash Cams at the moment.

The Unusual Ones

I absolutely love unusual and quirky gift ideas and I found a couple that were perfect ideas to add into my husband's birthday hamper. Box Of Favours is a gift box full of favour cards with a tongue in cheek contract to sign. The concept is simple. You give someone special a Box Of Favours when they give you back the card you fulfil the favour. Think of it as a box of I.O.U’s. The box is beautifully presented in a high quality dark blue-purple box with luxurious gold font and inside you will find The Contract, and The Favours. I really love this idea and thought it would be a cute gift to get him, my favourites are 'breakfast in bed' and 'a big cuddle'. I am left wondering which ones he will choose and what kind of ones he will add. As well as these I have added in some Personalised 'It's Prosecco O' Clock' Gummies Jar, just to tickle his taste buds. This little jar can be personalised with a name in uppercase of up to 12 characters as well as a little message below. These alcohol-free bottle gummies are soft and can be enjoyed at any time of the day, and they taste pretty good too.

So there we have it. A little birthday hamper for my husband, just to make his birthday that extra special. We are escaping for the weekend to celebrate both of our birthdays and I know that we will enjoy some time away relaxing in a hot tub and going for lots of autumn walks.  I cannot wait. So what do you think of his birthday hamper?

The post contains gifted items, but as always my words are my own.

Spooktacular Halloween Trail

I adore this time of the year as there are so many great things to look forward to such as cosy evenings, pumpkin spiced lattes, pumpkin picking and of course all things Halloween. Our family don't go trick or treating, in a traditional sense. Some parents are against the idea of Halloween and trick-or-treating for both general and specific reasons. It varies from the idea of it being a celebration of the dead to the safety of asking for sweets and treats from strangers. Not many people like trick-or-treaters and don't always answer the door so that's why we go to a local Halloween Trail. It's safer, we don't pester people for sweets and those taking part are guaranteed a treat or two along the way. So today I thought I would share a our spooktacular evening at the Halloween Trail.

Our local Borough Council and the Vancouver Quarter have teamed up to celebrate Halloween with a special trail around the town. The trail was in the main town centre and started at 3pm where children and their parents were invited to collect a special Halloween map before making their way around Some retailers even handed out sweets as we made our way around to find the clues. At the end of the trail after we collected the all the clues we handed our maps in to get a bag of sweets.

This year on the trail there was something a little different. As went went in search for our clues, at each location we found some wicked fairytale characters including Cruella De Vil, Maleficent, Gaston from Beauty and The Beast, Captain Hook and Mother Gothel from Rapunzel. And with the baddies came the heroes and princesses too. It was such a great evening, and definitely not your typical trick-or-treating.

The Perfect Autumnal Afternoon at Bowling House Norwich

I think it's pretty clear from the way it looks outside that Autumn is well and truly here, which means lots of things to look forward to. Autumn has to be, by far, my favourite season of the year. There's nothing quite like looking at the changing colours of nature, the fresh crisp air, chunky knits, tan boots, cinnamon scents, and not forgetting berry coloured lipsticks. I'm definitely looking forward to snuggling up in blankets and reading a good book whilst watching the rain outside in the coming months. Even though the nights are drawing in, temperatures are dropping there are many indoor and outdoor activities that can be enjoyed during the cooler months. So we have been embracing the autumn weather and created a Autumn bucket list that we can do as a family. A autumnal family afternoon at the Bowling House was the perfect way to kick start our list and so we thought that we would share a little more about our first autumnal outing.

Bowling House Norwich

Bowling House in Norwich brings a unique twist to any bowling experience and it's most definitely more than just a place to go bowling. The Bowling house has got an amazing vibe and is nothing I have ever seen before. It’s fairly small with only five lanes but this makes it feels atmospheric and fairly sophisticated, and would be the perfect place for a date night. The decor has a retro feel with a touch of industrial. Instead of concealing the industrial past of the building, the bowling house has decided to highlight it. Minimal walls, rough ceilings and large glass windows and as a result, the industrial interior design style is full of character. The menu is full of interesting dishes that are full of flavour and designed in a way to appeal to every taste and some of their cocktails look perfect to make my way through on a date night. The staff are lovely, kind and so helpful. From getting our bowling shoes, choosing our food, to being served and even seeing us out of the door. The service was excellent.

Getting to Bowling House was a little tricky. Based on Dereham Road in Norwich for those unfamiliar with the area it can be easily missed and the car park is not as visible as you may think. We were told that the car park is right next door but it's actually across the main road. However, it's only a few minutes away. We did get a little confused as we assumed that the bowling house would have their own car park. So make sure you continue pass the bowling house, over the next traffic lights you'll find the car park on the first left which is a pay and display car park £2.80 for a couple of hours.

Bowling at the Bowling House

On our visit we decided to go bowling and then have a bite to eat after. If you prefer your food whilst you bowl, you can do that too, just ask the waiter to bring your food over. But with a four year old we thought it would be better to bowl before eating. Before we get into this who bowling thing I need to confess that I am a terrible bowler, both my husband and daughter like to take advantage of that and relish in their victories. But more on that later. When we have been bowling before we have never got the chance to wear those fun  bowling shoes, at Bowling House they provide them for you, and will look after yours while you bowl. Our daughter's feet were a couple of sizes too small, which was disappointing for her as she really wanted to wear bowling shoes like we did.

The lanes were shorter than standard ones so power means nothing and perfect for those who are ready to unleash their competitive side and level the playing field. There are five lanes which are very close together so you'll be quite close to other bowlers, however this is ideal with slightly larger parties. We went to the bowling house in the early afternoon so it wasn't particularly busy, apart from a couple of other families which was quite nice. There were a different range of sizes with the balls, my daughter and I preferred bowling with the smaller balls and my husband preferred the heavier ones. Games are charged per person, per game. Adults are £5.80 on Mondays, £6.80 Tues to Thurs and weekends before 6pm, or £7.80 after six on the weekend. Kids (under 13) are £5, and are only allowed in the venue until 7pm. You can also get a Family Ticket any day before 6pm for £35 (two games for up to 4 people) or get 3 games for the price of 2 during the week or before 6 on the weekend.

Food at the Bowling House

Food at the bowling house was delicious! The menu was full of a selection of different dishes, with something to suit everyone. After building up an appetite, or needing to drown my sorrows in good food (for the loser, yep me) we decided to take a seat and look over the menu. The food included lots of fresh flavours and had some really interesting dishes. I especially loved the AMAZING punchy crispy Jalapenos, served with Parmesan mayo. When we visited the bowling house both my husband decided to get the Southern Fried Chicken Burger that was cooked in buttermilk and topped with BBQ sauce and service with Skin on Fries. We decided to get two side orders the Cajun Beer Battered Onions Rings with Blue Cheese Sauce and of course those crispy Jalapenos that certainly packed a punch. Our daughter decided to get the Mac & Cheese with a side order of chips! But the best thing of all???? They serve DIET COKE! Yes, a place that doesn't say 'Is Diet Pepsi Ok?' Winner hands down just for that. The food was really delicious, and the portion sizes were generous. Both my husband and I were more than satisfied with our meals, our daughter wasn't overly keen on the Mac & Cheese, but I don't know why because it was so good. However, she really enjoyed her chocolate ice cream that came as a part of her meal. I love the fact that the bowling house offered different drinks for children too, squash instead of those sugar filled Fruit Shoots!

As well as a great menu full of interesting dishes they have have the most amazing bar and the cocktails and wine list look amazing, one to save for a date night. Some seems quite expensive though, with cocktails I tend to want more than just one. However you can get two cocktails for £10 during Happy Hour which runs from Sunday to Thursday 9-11pm.

What Mimi Thought

Well as you can imagine, for a four year old, it was the best thing she had ever done. She enjoyed a family afternoon date at Bowling House, and even now a week or so on she is still telling friends and family about her day bowling and that she beat both Mummy and Daddy. Now I have be completely honest here, I am terrible at bowling. Actually when I come to think of it, I don't think I have ever won a game, that must be an accomplishment in itself, really? I am that bad that I ended up using both of my hands on the ball and going through my legs, it did help me get a strike. We have been bowling a couple of times with our daughter and she is still getting to grips with the rules and waiting her turn. At times when she reached for the bowling balls it did make me wince, as I didn't want her get her fingers trapped between two bowling balls. But she soon got the hang of taking her ball when told to and getting it to the ramp and loved pushing the ball off the ramp.

My daughter LOVED the food at the bowling house. We handed her the quirky menu and allowed her to choose her own meal and she decided on Mac & Cheese and as the waiter finished taking her order she shouted, I would love some chips too please. As our food came out, we were surprised that the waiter took note of her requests. Our daughter tried the Mac & Cheese, but after a while she took more interest in her chips and decided she preferred that and onion rings. In a nutshell, she had the best afternoon and has asked several times if we can go back, which we will!

What Tony Thought

A great atmosphere, excellent service and amazing food. I really loved the industrial feel of the interiors and the refurbished decor like the cinema chairs definitely adds character and were really comfy. The atmosphere of bowling house was really relaxed and the background music added to that, making our visit very enjoyable. The food was very good and the menu caters to all tastes, I cannot fault the menu whatsoever. I even like the fact that there were some games and activities incorporated on the children's menu to help occupy them. However, the activities don't stop with the children. There were also some retro board games like Othello, Boggle and Connect 4, everyone loves an old fashioned board game. And if that doesn't appeal to you there is also a foosball table too. In a nutshell a great afternoon for families and perfect place for a date night.

Becoming Focused and Productive with Utmost Me Neuro Focus Plus

As working at home mum, I have a lot on my plate. Staying focused can be tough with a constant stream of emails, social media promotion, pitching and phone calls demanding my attention. Amid the school runs, the household tasks, the cooked dinners and don’t even get me started on not being able to have time for myself, because that NEVER happens. My life schedule is a little hectic to say the least.

But then there are days where I just can’t get it together and feel like a failure. It’s those days that I feel as if no matter what I do I'm unable to achieve certain goals and there’s no way in hell I will get anything ticked off my to do list. But when lack of focus and drive comes more often than not - it’s time to look at it different. Times change and sometimes you need to adapt new habits, techniques, and maybe even dietary or supplemental techniques to best handle your life. I can only speak on the last bit so let’s talk supplements, more importantly focus enhancers.

So What are Focus Enhancers?

Focus enhancing supplements can be anything that helps you focus on a task. I know that sounded basic but that’s really it, and it’s a lot broader of a topic than you would think. People who can’t focus can’t focus for some reason and whatever targets that reason can be a focus enhancer whether this is related to a medication, your lifestyle, being a new parent and never sleeping or being over stimulated with too many cups of coffee. There is normally a reason why focus enhancers are effected.

If you’re the type of person to jump out of bed and go running before work then caffeine probably isn’t going to help you as much as a mild sedative could. If you’re the opposite and your brain fog likes to stick around all day, then taking a sedative isn't going to help you whatsoever. For me focus and concentration is something that is becoming a bit of thing for me, but not is a good way. I'm sure that I'm not alone in that. Most of us want to reach our true potential and may drink the odd cup of tea or coffee, or go for a run to stay awake and alert, so surely an all in one supplement would be more beneficial ensuring that you get a little bit of everything, rather too much of some and not enough of the thing you need. Let me tell you about Utmost Me.

Utmost Me: Neuro Focus Plus

We were kindly introduced to the wonderful word of Utmost Me and their new supplement Neuro Focus Plus. As I’m looking to use a supplement that will enhance my focus to improve my everyday productivity, these day supplements will be more suited to my needs. The Neuro Focus & Brain Energy Blend is a natural Nootropic formula. For those who are not aware of Nootropics they are foods or dietary supplements that support brain functions such as focus, memory and concentration. Lately, my focus hasn’t been the best and I’ve let everything get on top me and sometimes it can be quite overwhelming. I’m finding myself unable to focus on a single target for long periods of time before my mind wanders. It's that or another extreme on focusing on one task at a time where  I'm finding I switch off from other important issues. It’s times like this that a focus-enhancing supplements are a great way to help me focus and improve productivity. A happy medium between the two would be amazing.

By taking two capsule of the Neuro Focus Plus will help improve focus, concentration and productivity. Over the last two weeks we have been getting to grips with Utmost Me and their focus supplement. The primary ingredients are L-Tyrosine, which many people find helps with fatigue from stress, Rhodiola increases energy, endurance, strength, and mental capacity and Tumeric extract helps to boost attention. Neuro Focus Plus also  contain 75mg caffeine per two capsules to help give you a kick start to the day. You simply take two capsules a day with food; normally I take my supplements after my breakfast. Also keep in mind that if you take them consistently over five days with a break at the weekend and start a new set on the Monday, you will find a gradual difference with focus and concentration.

Did Neuro Focus Plus Work for Me?

I have using Utmost Me Neuro Focus Plus for a few weeks now and I can actually tell that my quality of focus has improved, as you can imagine I was a little dubious about whether the fact that such focus supplements could actually help, but I do feel it's making a difference. I have been waking up feeling refreshed and ready to take on the day, with a four year old in tow, this supplement is just what I needed. I most definitely spending less time staring into space waiting for inspiration to land in my lap. Some ideas are popping into my head at such a crazy rate, I'm actually finding it hard to write everything down.

utmost focus supplements

But for me, the best thing about taking this supplements is that it's making a difference with my focus and concentration levels seemed to have soared meaning that I'm a more proactive blogger, also I don't constantly moan about how I don't feel inspired and unable to focus on tasks in hand. As I mentioned early I either focus solely on one task at a time, switching off completely to other important tasks that need my attention. Or when I do focus on the one thing my mind tends to wander and think about other things. But since taking these supplements, I have noticed slight changes with my focus and concentration which can only be a good thing right, and the more I take the supplement the more focused I will become. I'm beginning to get a happy medium between the two.

If you're looking for something to help aid your focus and concentration then really look into focus enhancers and in the form of these supplements from Utmost Me.
