Turning twelve! Wow, that feels really strange to type down. My not so little girl is going to be a pre-teen! Turning twelve is that lovely in between stage of a little bit of childhood joy meets independence and whole load of personality.
I will admit that this years birthday shop felt different, but just as fun. So, if you're shopping for a pre-teen who loves pink, cute things, crafts and self care then you've come to the right place for some thoughtful ideas for that in-between stage.
Let's kick off this pre-teen birthday gift guide with most boujee-ist gift that any lip gloss loving twelve year old girl would love? Brace yourself, it is a little luxurious.
Dior. Lip Glow Oil in 001 Pink // £38
We wanted our daughter to feel special for her birthday so we got a gorgeous Dior Lip Glow Oil which is the perfect bit of luxury that we know she will love. The 001 Pink shade gives a subtle glow with the formula enriched with cherry oil for extra softness and shine.
We added the signature gift box to our order which came in a textured box finished with an elegant ribbon and a personalised message card. As a little bonus, we also got to choose three complimentary samples: La Collection Privée Gris Dior, La Collection Privée Oud Ispahan, and the NEW La Collection Privée Dior Paradise.
Primark. Pink Bow Makeup Bag // £6
We always like to include a couple of practical gifts, and a new makeup bag is definitely one of them. With its soft pink colour and bow detailing has that sweet, girly aesthetic that suits any tween whose whole personality is pink. The compact size is ideal for everyday essentials, whether it’s lip glosses, mini perfumes, or skincare.
Ariana Grande. Cloud Body Mist // £9
We kept it simple this year with the Ariana Grande’s Cloud body mist as she still has a quite stash away from last year. With its airy blend of lavender blossom, juicy pear, and bergamot, wrapped in creamy coconut and vanilla‑orchid notes. It’s a scent that feels a little bit grown‑up. This is perfect for my girl who is starting to enjoy choosing her own mists or a girl who wants to add to her collection.
The Beauty Crop. Sugar Rush Lip Duo // £5
The Beauty Crop Sugar Rush Lip Duo is the perfect sweet treat for this tween birthday gift guide. The set included two glossy hydrating formulars with a cute dessert inspired aesthetic that are super affordable. We grabbed this set off of TikTok shop as part of a sale with The Beauty Crop.
Jellycat. Pink Macaron Mia. // £20
One of the cutest additions to her birthday haul has to be the Jellycat Mia the Macaron. She’s this perfectly pastel little treat that is soft, squishy, with that signature Jellycat sweetness. This was the final one we needed to complete the Macaron collection, as we already have May Macaron, Mona Macaron, and Max Macaron.
We finally managed to get our hands on the Marshmallow duo on the Jellycat website which quickly went out of stock. But these two add an extra dash of fun with two squishy, smiley marshmallows joined together with a satin ribbon, complete with rosy cheeks and dangling corduroy legs.
Gui Gui. Shimmer Deluxe Duo Pack Craft Set // £15
It wouldn’t be a proper birthday round‑up without a few crafty kits for my girl. Right now she’s absolutely obsessed with Gui Gui, and on a trip to TK Maxx we spotted this huge set for just £15 which is an absolute bargain. I already know we’ll both have so much fun with it when she opens it. We also picked up a couple of the smaller sets from a local toy shop; we’ve been hunting for them everywhere. Everyone seems to have gone mad for Gui Gui lately.
Coco Wyo. Bold Colouring Books // £6
Not strictly crafty, but I couldn’t resist adding a couple of bold colouring books too. First up was the Coco Wyo Cozy Vibes Colouring Book, and then the sweetest Frog Life bold colouring book filled with adorable little frogs. I can already picture her spending sunny afternoons in the garden, happily colouring away.
Primark. Pink Handbag. // £8
We have officially entered the handbag for every occasion era and honestly, I’m loving it as a fully certified handbag hoarder. Hunting down the perfect pink bag is never as simple as it sounds, but when I spotted this one in Primark it felt like a nostalgic flashback. Does anyone else remember those tiny shoulder bags we carried to school, or the Jane Norman and Topshop paper bags we guarded like treasure? It’s a true millennial core memory, wrapped up in one cute little handbag.
Nike. Youth Court Borough Low Recraft Trainers in pink. // £50
The Nike Pink Youth Court Borough Low Recraft Trainers are such a great pick for any active tween. The white and pink colour feels fresh and fun, while the recrafted design gives a little extra room in the toe box and midfoot, making them comfortable for running, jumping, and everyday wear. A perfect blend of practicality and style, making them a brilliant addition to any birthday gift guide.
Sony. WH‑CH520 Headphones in pink // £36
These Sony WH‑CH520 headphones in pink make a brilliant birthday gift for any tween or teen who loves music and a pop of colour. They’re lightweight, comfortable for all day wear, and offer an impressive 50 hours of battery life. My husband bought me a pair of these a couple of birthdays ago and I think I have charged them two or three times. It is the perfect techy gift for my girl.
