My daughter is turning ten this year, so it feels the right time for her to have a way to get hold of family, stay in touch with friends, while practicing some kind of independence. Like many parents, we would like to hold off on buying our daughter a mobile phone for as long as possibly, especially if they are young. However, it's still important for parents to be able to stay connected with their children or know their whereabouts. That's where a smartwatch come into the picture.

The watch has been tested in a laboratory and certified to withstand 2 meter of water for up to an hour, although keep in mind it is not recommended for showering or swimming, which disappoints.

myFirst Circle is the first social sharing app designed specifically for children, their friends, and family to stay connected1. It provides a safe, walled social network where children can create posts and share photos within a secure environment. Think of a unique social media world, but just for your family and friends. 

myFirst Circle allows children to post photos and interact with their circle of friends without needing parental approval for every post. When adding new contacts, you can organise them into family, besties, friends or acquaintances to control who sees your child’s posts. You can choose which social posts are viewable by different groups. 

Setting Up

First, we downloaded the myFirst Circle app from the App Store or Google Play Store. To start using myFirst Circle, log in using your Google, Facebook, or Apple ID. For new user registration, you will need to provide your phone number. We found that the myFirst Circle app is an essential tool for setting up and managing the smartwatch for our daughter. 

Then, we created an account and followed the instructions to pair the smartwatch with our phone. The app guides you through the setup process, which includes setting up an administrator account and choosing subscription plans.

Once the setup was complete, we found that using the myFirst Fone S3 was straightforward. The smartwatch has a simple interface that allows our daughter to make a call and send messages easily. We also liked the SOS feature, which allows the child to call for help in case of an emergency.

Final Thoughts

The myFirst Fone S3+ s a promising device that offers a range of features designed to keep children safe and connected with calls and video calling features. Retailing at £179. It is equipped with advanced features such as heart rate monitoring, step tracking, and a 2MP front camera. It is also reasonably priced and comes with a free SIM card with a 1-month plan.

The myFirst Circle app provides a safe, walled social network where children can create posts and share photos within a secure environment. But, family and friends would have to join myFirst Circle app to be able to see what is being shared. Not everyone is always so willing to join. Despite these minor snags, the S3 is still a great smart watch for your child to stay connected with their children and monitor their safety, while they try and gain a little independence.
