We love a party bag, especially when they come in pastels pinks and peaches with pops of purples, blues and greens. These pastel coloured party bags are the perfect thing for holding all little favours for you party guests.
So when it came to celebrating my daughter's birthday milestone, a Cloud Nine pastel theme felt like the perfect way to capture that dreamy in‑between magic. The colour scheme set the tone instantly. Blush pink, powder blue, lavender, mint and buttercream yellow. Together, they create a sky soft backdrop that felt like stepping into a daydream. Think soft pastel colours, dreamy treats, and cute little surprises that feel magical without costing a fortune.
To bring the Cloud Nine idea to life we layered textures and shapes that felt airy and uplifting. We have fluffy cloud garlands floating on the ceiling, iridescent balloons shimmered like bubbles and a small pastel balloon backdrop for such a magical core memory. The centrepiece was a pastel‑ombre cake topped with delicate sugar clouds and a lavender number nine. Inside, each slice revealed a swirl of colours just like a rainbow hiding behind the clouds. It wasn’t just a cake it was a moment of pure delight.
Every guest left with a pastel treat bag filled with thoughtful pick with a little sprinkle of magic, for £3 per bag. A small reminder that joy doesn’t have to be loud to be unforgettable. Here’s a simple idea list that looks gorgeous and keeps your budget happy.
The Bag: Keep It Simple & Pastel
Begin with a pastel bag to keep everything inside looking on theme! You could try pastel gift bags with handles, These simple and vibrant kraft paper bags are perfect for children's birthday gift bags, seasonal bags, gift bags, or birthday snack bags. They come in a variety of sizes with different shade of pink, peach, blue, lavender, or buttercream yellows. You could go for a fold-over closure bag, an organza bag for a dreamy yet simple touch, or even reusable mini cotton bags.
Every item was chosen to echo the theme with light, uplifting, and full of imagination. We had 25 little guests, a mix of girls and boys, and it wasn’t easy making sure all of them left the party with happy faces. We included lots of picks including mini colouring books and a pack of pen that are ideal for doodles and secret thoughts. Each colouring book was filled with pages for colouring and a couple of activities in the back. We know how much children love toys and fidgets so we put in some window crawlers, pastel fidget tubes (every parent will hate me, bouncy balls, bubble wands and stamps.
The party fillers that we have included in our pastel party bags are;
Pastel Mini Bubble Wands, £1 for a pack of 10
Pastel Fidget Tubes, £5 for a pack of 30
Bouncy Balls and Footballs, £1.50 for a pack of 12
Stickers, £2 for a pack of 30
Colouring Book, £4 for a pack of 25
Pack of 4 Pencils, £5 for a pack of 25
Stamps, £3 for a pack of 26
Glow Sticks, £1 for a pack of 20
Window Crawlers Stretchy Man, £3 for a pack of 40
Sweets, £3 for a pack of 25
These will make each bag under £3 each, which is really great if you're on a budget.
The Finishing Touch
To keep everything cohesive, you can also get a little creative with a magical finishing touch. Simple, pretty, and perfectly in tune with the theme. We decided to finish our bags with beautiful pastel tissue paper with a name tag on each bag (not pictured) with a 'Thank you for making my day magical' sticker on each tag. You could use cloud stickers, pastel rainbow tags, star confetti. When lined up together, they looked like a row of floating clouds waiting to drift home with each guest.
To make the favours feel extra special, create a little pastel party‑bag display rather than handing them out straight away. Arrange a simple white tray and decorate it with tiny cloud accents, then scatter a handful of pastel confetti so it looks like a sky full of soft colour. Add a small rainbow sign for a pop of whimsy, and stack the bags neatly together so they look like a row of floating clouds. It becomes a dreamy photo moment, a sweet feature on the party table, and a beautiful way to showcase all the magic waiting inside.
What I loved most about these pastel party bags is that they looked beautifully curated without stretching the budget with each one came in at around £3, making them a wonderfully affordable way to add a little extra magic. By choosing small but thoughtful items like mini notebooks, pastel pens and a sprinkle of star fun, the bags felt special and themed without needing anything extravagant. Displayed together on a white tray with cloud decorations, pastel confetti and a rainbow sign shows you don’t need to spend a fortune to create something truly lovely.
