The Race is on with Rubik’s Race

Games are a great way to bring out your competitive side with family and friends, and also make an excellent ice-breaker. We love playing games that are fun, fast-paced and bring out a little competitiveness. Our favourites include Dobble, Uno, Operation, Pictionary and Frustration. But it's always nice to try something new.

The Race is on Til Christmas...Rubik’s Race is a high-intensity board game designed to get your brain and fingers racing at an extreme pace. A strategy racing game like no other. It's the ultimate face-to-face Rubik's challenge.

Shake the scrambler and race head-to-head against your opponent. Slide your tiles trying to recreate the Rubik's pattern from the scrambler and be the first to drop the divider on your side of the board to win! It's very competitive and so much fun. It's the perfect game for siblings.

We could wait to unbox as soon as our Rubik's Race arrived. It is very easy to set up, it only takes a few minutes. Inside the box include everything you will needed to unleash your competitive side. You will find 48 coloured tiles, a scrambler with transparent lid that had 9 coloured cubes inside. You add the coloured tiles to your Rubik's board and lift up the divider. My daughter so so excited to slide all her tiles different ways to recreate the pattern from the scrambler and slamming down the divider as soon as you can. It was intense and a game we all take seriously. It’s a very simple game design but one that any age can play and enjoy. We all had a great time playing it together.

The only downside of the game is the fact that the tiles are not always secure enough so that if you slide your coloured tiles too quickly or competitively then some of the other tiles can pop out. But once you get the hang of the game, you know how fast is too fast.

Perhaps you're more of a solo cuber? Then you must try the brand new Rubik's Phantom which is like the original but with a whole new layer of challenge. With thermochromic technology, this cube will temporarily reveal its colour with a simple touch. Can you solve it before it turns back to black? It's not as easy as it looks.

  15. This is such a good take on a Rubiks cube, it's so neat to see them continue the brand! I had never seen this version of the cube before.
