BIRCHBOX - June 2020: Born in the USA

Introducing the ‘Born in the USA’ June BIRCHBOX! This month, there is a big focus on acknowledging what is happening across the world right now and all those that have been deeply effected. It has been a vary sad and frightening time so it was a touching gesture for Birchbox to add a little note to all subscribers so say that they are listening and want to make a change. Birchbox are listening and made donations to Black Lives Matter, the George Floyd Memorial Fund, Brooklyn Bail Fund, Reclaim The Black and Black Visions Collective. Birchbox have mentioned that this is the beginning and that they are committed to continuing and sharing to fight justice.

The June BIRCHBOX has been perfectly designed to bring the best of beauty across the Atlantic with their stars and stripe designs in red, white and blue. A box filled with 5 beauty must-haves with their June edit that will introduce subscribers to rejuvenating eyes, taming haircare and more to unleash a bit of beauty across the pond. This month subscribers will find a Real Chemistry Peel or Foaming Cleanser, a Magnitone Cleansing Cloth and a Wink Lux Concealer in either Light, Light Beige, Medium, Deep or Rich. It's a goody this month!

Birchbox is £12.95 per month, and it’s a rolling contract so you can cancel your subscription at any time. All beauty boxes are having delays this month due to the global crisis, so don’t panic if your box takes longer than normal to arrive. So without further ado let's take a closer look.

Real Chemistry. Luminous 3-Minute Peel. RRP £48.

This month subscribers could choose either a Real Chemistry Luminous 3-Minute Peel or a Real Chemistry Fresh Start Foaming Cleanser and so the only choice for me was a peel. You just can't beat a Sunday afternoon with a good face mask or peel to help kick start an evening of self-care. This acid-free (yay for those with sensitive skin) face peel that removes dead skin cells as you massage across your face. Unlike most skincare products that start working after a certain amount of time, this delivers results upon the first use. I didn’t notice much fragrance, and the peel itself is easy and pleasant. Just squeeze a little bit out, and massage onto your face.

Patchology. FlashPatch Rejuvenating Eye Gel Patches. RRP £14.

These Rejuvenating Eye Gel Patches are perfect for rejuvenating tired eyes in the morning. Helping to reduce puffiness, refresh dry skin and visibly brighten to help fake a full eight hours rest, these hard-working gels are an absolute must-try. I loved using these first thing in the morning and that puffiness around the eyes, dryness etc all reduced. I also loved the fact that they didn't slide off my face which tends to happen with a lot of eye patches.

Magnitone WipeOut!. Eco-Friendly Microfibre Cleansing Cloth. RRP £20.

Removing makeup is the bain of my life, it's probably the part of day I least look forward to. So I was intrigued to find this little cloth in my Birchbox this month. You simply wet the cloth and massage over your face to break down impurities and removes all types of makeup. But get this? The 100% bamboo microfibres of this cleansing cloth swell up when wet, grabbing hold of makeup particles and trapping them in a cloth, meaning makeup is removed, smear free. It can last up to 1000 washes, so it's sure to stand the test of time.

Number 4. Jour d'automne Blow Dry Lotion. RRP £25.

I came across Number 4 a few boxes ago with their sugar spray and if was amazing and gave my hair a lot of texture, and their soothing balm is pretty good too. This Blow Dry Lotion minimises frizz, restores softness and protects against humidity and heat damage. Part thermal protector and part leave in treatment, this lotion helps your hair dry up to 50% faster and is packed with natural botanicals to keep your strands healthy. I have tried using this a couple of times and even though my hair feels super smooth and soft, it still took me the same amount of time to dry my hair - so it shortfalls on that part.

Winky Lux. Peeper Perfect Concealer in Light Beige. RRP £14.

Every tired mama needs bright eyes and this Winky Lux full coverage concealer will diffuse the look of uneven skin tone, blemishes and other imperfections. This concealer also contains collagen, hyaluronic acid, grapeseed extract, olive oil, and vitamin E to help my tired mama eyes. I’m shocked at how much I love this concealer! It’s a hydrating formula with good coverage and a natural radiant finish. A little goes a long way with this concealer, it can be really thick but the coverage you get is very nice. Easy to blend out and doesn’t look cakey on the skin.

I LOVED my Birchbox this month! It was full of product that I would normally use and I have made some new discoveries, which is my favourite part about being a subscriber! A lot of these products are going to be great for when I have some self care Sundays that's for sure.

So what did you think? Are you a Birchbox fan? If not, you should at least try a couple of boxes. A monthly Birchbox subscription, with no long-term commitment, costs just £10 (+ £2.95 P&P) per month.
