Save Money on Your Next Trip to an Extended Stay Hotel

For many people, being on the road frequently for business is a regular thing, and they often take advantage of extended stay hotels while they are away. There are many advantages to opting for an extended stay hotel, including some of the many amenities offered. But, the prices can vary, and you need to make sure that you’re getting the most for your money. Today we’re going to look at a few things to ask about before booking your next long-term stay in downtown Edmonton.

Kitchenettes – Look for an extended stay hotel in downtown Edmonton that offers a room with a kitchenette, preferably with a fridge, stove, microwave, toaster, and coffee maker. It’s even better if they supply things like dishes, pots, pans, etc. This way, you don’t have to spend a lot of money on take-out food while you’re away. Even if you only have a room with a mini fridge and a microwave, you’re still able to prepare small meals for yourself.

Wi-Fi – Don’t forget to ask for free Wi-Fi. This is particularly important if your trip is for business purposes. In a sense, your long-term stay hotel room is going to be your office for an extended period of time, so you need to know that you’re going to be able to communicate with your team and clients. Most extended stay hotels do offer free Wi-Fi, but there are still a few smaller operations in downtown Edmonton that do not unless it is requested.

Parking and Transit – Whether you will be bringing your own vehicle or using a rental car, you may have a need for parking. Your extended stay hotel should be able to offer free, on-site parking so you don’t have to pay an extra fee to use a parking lot. If you’re not going to be using a vehicle, you’ll need to rely on public transportation, including buses, subways, and cabs. In this case, be sure to look for a long-term stay hotel that is close to transit stops.

Laundry Services – Unless you plan on bringing your entire wardrobe with you, you’re going to need laundry services. Rather than having to go to a local laundromat while you’re away, look for an extended stay hotel that offers laundry services. You may have to pay a bit extra, but it’s still going to be less expensive than the laundromat or having your clothing dry-cleaned. Some long-term stay hotels even offer laundry services as part of the amenities for long-term clients.

Your hotel room is going to be your home for an extended period of time, so you need to know that you’re going to have all of the comforts of home, without having to spend a fortune. You can save a lot of money when you use a long-term stay hotel that offers the above amenities. Of course, it’s always good if they offer even more, but make sure that you aren’t going to be charged a lot of extra money for things that you may not even really need all that much.
