As we ease into that magical time of year filled with pumpkin spice everything, cosy sweaters, and the excitement that comes with Halloween, it's the perfect opportunity to surprise a loved one with a Boo Basket.
So, what is a Boo Basket? It's an adorable trend that's all about packing a bundle of joy and goodies to make a loved one feel special all inside a basket. You can include whatever you wish and cater to their likes and tastes. Think of a boo basket as an Easter basket for Autumn. In that case, you will want to fill a boo basket with cosy, cute, and clever items related to Halloween, Why not see our post How to Make A Boo Basket so you can see the typical items that we include.

There wasn't a particular theme with my daughter's Boo Basket this year, but we tried to keep it traditional with orange and purple. I wanted to include a whole range of items that will help keep my daughter and her cousin occupied over a play date during half term.
Spooktacular treats are a must. Aldi have a whole range of frightful treats that will be perfect to add into a boo basket. We have opted to include these Milk Chocolate Peanut Butter Filled Pumpkins, Milk Chocolate Monster Mouses and a Horror Hot Chocolate Bombe.
As a family, we love arts and crafts, so of course we wanted to include some creepy crafting kits for all the family. That could look like Halloween colouring book, a ceramic pumpkin painting kit, or a Halloween bracelet making kit. We included a Make Your Own Spider Bunting, a Haunted House Foam Kit and a Day of the Dead Bead Set - it is best to add in a different variety of craft sets, especially if you have more than one child. A cute new addition to the boo basket this year was these PoP Models Ready To Paint made up of 3D and 2D pumpkins, vampires, bats, spiders and witches along with a mini back of frightful models.
Spooky season is the start of a relaxing few months, so we wanted to include some cosy items in my daughter's boo basket. These included some adorable pumpkin sock set, a couple of Halloween themed face masks, a pumpkin-spiced candle and a soft blanket. You could even get a little plushies like Jellycats of Squishmallows shaped like a bat, pumpkins or cat.
Not forgetting to include some of the best ghost stories. These child-friendly scary tales are best told with the lights out for full effect. Some of my daughter's favourites books include Funnybones by Janet & Allan Ahlberg, The Witches by Roald Dahl & Quentin Blake, The Worst Witch by Jill Murphy and the brand new The Double Trouble Society and the Worst Curse by Carrie Hope Fletcher.
I always enjoy making these adorable boo baskets for my daughter because it just feels so fun. For past baskets I have even taken some things that she already has and incorporated them into the basket. But you can pick up some adorable sets from Home Bargains, BnM, Aldi and Poundland.
