When you have a project list that is a mile long, it can be hard to narrow down your focus. If you're anything like me, you never really know where to begin. Whether some parts of your home are dated or not a functional as you would like, its time to get started on those home upgrades. But what home upgrades are worth investing in?

The kitchen is the heart of your home. It often the room that you spend most of your time in, and if you decided to sell, its one of the first rooms that potential buyers will want to see. There's a saying that kitchens and bathrooms sell houses, and it's true. A modern, up-to-date kitchen is among the best upgrades to make to your home that are worth investing in.
Updating a kitchen can be as simple as just giving your kitchen cabinets a fresh coat of paint. Or it can be much more complex and involve an entirely new kitchen design. You don't have to upgrade every single aspect of your kitchen at once. We wanted to try and create a kitchen that was warm and inviting, yet simple and humble with natural wood, classic shaker style cabinetry, ceramic sink and a soft colour palette. A farmhouse design appealed to us the most because you can choose almost any colour scheme that works best for you and the space you have, whilst still maintaining a traditional farmhouse style.
Update the Bathroom
Our bathroom is often overlooked, and if we do make changes, they are rarely enough to make a difference. Bathrooms tend to have a small amount of space, so it is key that you utilise the space you have to its fullest. Nevertheless, people nowadays want their bathrooms to be a place of luxury, where they can relax and unwind.
A whole new bathroom suite isn’t always necessary and you’d be surprised how different a shower can look with new hardware and new tiles. But ripping a whole suite out and starting afresh may also be beneficial, especially if you want to change the layout of the room. A new bathroom should still meet all the practical requirements, be easy to maintain, and have a bit of style, too!
Big Windows are the Way to Go.
If you're making home upgrades, big windows are the way to go. It is something that we hope to install in our forever home in the coming months. Large windows allow a lot of light into a house, but you should also take care in the winter to choose glass that is strong and insulated so that heat won't escape. But choosing the right windows for your home upgrades s a tough job, there are so many different types, styles with a wider range of functionality - it can be pretty hard to narrow down your choices.

When it comes to choosing flooring for your home, it can feel like such a huge decision, and that's mostly because it is. When we moved into our home there was laminate floors throughout except for one small piece of vinyl on the landing, which was strange. But we wanted to get something in as soon as we possibly could. We narrowed it down to carpet, laminate, vinyl and wood flooring.
After debating on the best flooring for our family we decided for the most part that carpet was the best choice. With its cosiness and warmth, it makes a house feel like a home right away.
