As I have said it's January and everyone is trying to be healthy including me so what better way to start your day than with a seriously delicious smoothie! This filling smoothie is perfect for a breakfast on the go and it will keep you going all morning as well as giving you a healthy start to the day.
For this tasty and energising smoothie you will need:
1 medium banana, chopped
125 ml of skimmed milk
Handful of ice cubes
1 tbsp. honey
1/8 of a tsp of ground nutmeg
3 tbsp. of Greek yogurt or low fat yogurt
2 tsp of rolled oats or granola (optional)
Combine the first five ingredients in a blender, process for 2 minutes until smooth. Add the yoghurt and extras if you are having any until completely blended. Serve immediately. Its as simple as that! You can also try this recipe with a variety of fruit - strawberries, raspberries, peaches, pears, or blueberries. You could also use low fat fruit yogurt instead of milk for a creamier and thicker consistency.
This looks pretty tasty! #FabFridayPost

ReplyDeleteI know this may seem strange but since I have been having smoothies for breakfast I don't snack and I have so much more energy. Get on that smoothie train!!! Lol! Let me know what you think when you make one! Thank you so much for stopping by and for your comments 💛
DeleteI'll have to try this for my other half - he loves banana! :) #KCACOLS
ReplyDeleteYou'll have to let me know what you think...this is the easiest smoothie I've made and the quickest to eat...especially with the help on my little lady!!! Thank you so much for stopping by and for your lovely comments 💛
DeleteI'm not a breakfast person, the thought of eating first thing makes me feel sick, but I am starting a healthy eating plan soon and I know I will have to start doing breakfast. This is perfect for me as it's more of a drink, thanks for sharing :) #KCACOLS
ReplyDeleteDebbie
My husband is exactly the same he never likes to eat breakfast! But we are both on a healthy eating plan so I try to encourage him to eat something and he loves this smoothie. It's perfect for him. Thank you so much for stopping by and for your lovely comments!!! 💛
DeleteI have smoothies for breakfast during the week because I need something healthy and I don't have time to cook before work - too busy sleeping as long as I possibly can! I never thought to put oats in my smoothies, though. This is intriguing! I'm definitely going to give it a try.
ReplyDeleteI love adding oats to this smoothie because it keeps me fuller for longer, which is great for me! I also think making a smoothie is so much easier and quicker when you don't have time sit and eat your breakfast, great on the go. Thank you so much for your lovely comments!!! 💛
DeleteSound like a great recipe. I am alway shy to ask this - what does nutmeg do? My boy loves milkshake so I think I will give it a try. Thank you for linking with me at #FabFridayPost x
ReplyDeleteI like to add nutmeg to sweeten the taste of my smoothie especially if my banana is not quite ripe!!! But if nutmeg is not your thing I am more than sure you could add other ingredients. I did try cinnamon the other morning, it was very tasty!!! :) My little lady loves to share my smoothie, I think I'll have to make a whole one for her soon. Thank you so much for hosting and for your comments! 💛
DeleteNow that is what I call, starting the year healthy! Instead of banana smoothie, I made a banana muffin last weekend.

DeleteThis looks and sounds yummy!! I love banana. I have been doing banana smoothies at home too but I do it with strawberries and orange juice so no milk. It actually tastes delicious as the strawberry gives it the sweetness that you need. Thanks so much for sharing this at #KCACOLS. I'm so happy to have you for the first time! I hope that you like it! I would love to see you again on Sunday! :-) x
