As summer draws to a close, so do the summer holidays. We have had the best summer filled with adventures, family, friends, and fun. I think we're all a little sad to be returning to normality in this household. As much as I would love the holidays to continue, we have to prepare for the smooth transition to back to school.
That means it’s time to get back into a good daily routine. We have always thrived on a good routine in our daily life, which adapts to the school holidays and our lifestyle when necessary.
However, now my daughter is heading into year four and my business is becoming busier - it's time for us to become a little more routine when it comes to our day and free time. We want to try and introduce more meaningful things as a part of a daily routine especially if we want to form good habits. So, with this in mind, I wanted to share how you can create a simple daily routine that works wonders.
1. Get Up Early
Okay, yes, but hear me out! Waking up early may seem difficult, especially for night owls, but it has great benefits, including improving sleep quality, mental health, and productivity. Rising early is the secret to productivity for many people, this is ever more important when you're introducing a routine after a fun filled summer. The extra hours in the morning have a lot to offer, particularly if you’re looking to improve your routine.
2. Wake Up the Right Way
A few extra minutes of sleep can be appealing but resisting the temptation will make it easier to get up. So, avoid hitting that snooze button. Why not add a little stretching into your morning routine to help you walked up your body by boosting circulation and reduce stiffness.
3. Hydrate Your Body
After brushing my teeth and kick starting my cleansing routine, it's time to focus on hydration. It can jumpstart your system and ensure that your body processes work efficiently. The SHO Bottle is the perfect reusable water bottle. It will keep your drink cold all day, reduce the amount of single-use plastic you use and help you stand out from the crowd with its unique colour & style. To ensure that our daily routine work we will fill up our water bottles up the night before so we can all hydrate first thing.
With their extensive range you can choose from Original 2.0 Bottle, Food Flasks, Coffee Cups, Tumblers, Mugs and Travel Flasks. Each completely customisable in their size, features, and designs. This SHO Original 2.0 Klara Hawkins - Birds of Bloom is simply stunning and fits perfectly my daughters school bag. It keeps iced water cool for 24 hours and keeping coffee or tea hot for 12 hours. The SHO reusable bottles are 100% leak proof, BHA safe and EU safety tested. But what makes these bottles even better is that fact that you can make your bottle as unique as you like.
The designs available come in colours in matte, ombre, pastel, neon, and stainless steel. The artist designs are incredible with many different collections to choose from such as Bugs and Blooms, Wildflower Fruit, Happy Times and Happy Habitats. Not forgetting a SHO Original 2.0 range for Kids, but for smaller hands. With equally stunning designs, sippy straw lids, these bottles are great for kids on the go.
4. Eat a Nutritious & Filling Breakfast to Fuel Up
Always start your day off right by eating a healthy breakfast that will fill you up until lunchtime. Eat a balanced breakfast that has some protein and carbs to give you fuel, like eggs and toast or a nice bowl of cereal with milk. Always snack on some fruit and veggies too. Our favourite breakfasts are peachy porridge, multi grain cereal and banana on toast.
5. Prepare the Night Before
One of the most efficient ways to get ready for school each day is to have a consistent routine and flow to your morning. Create a solid pattern for your child to follow each day. Without a routine, it is very easy to get distracted by books and toys.
If you are pressed for time in the morning, do what you can the night before. Hang freshly ironed uniform and put it in a designated spot. That way, when morning hits, kids will know exactly where to go to find their clothes for the day. You can also prepare backpacks the night before. Make sure that homework, school supplies are all safely tucked away. And place backpacks next to the door so kids can grab them quickly on their way out.
Make sandwiches, fill water bottles, prep snacks and keep everything in the fridge or a designated spot so you can grab them easily and get out the door on time. This is a no-brainer, but the more you can do the night before, the better.
So, there you have it! By following a simple routine can work wonder for you and your family. Not only does it give you the opportunity to become more organised, but it will also help you focus on tasks that are important, saving time and energy for the more exciting things in your life.

I love this little guide. I think routine is so important, but it can be so hard to get into one, espcially in the morning. It's so hectic.
ReplyDeleteI get up at between 4-4h30 every morning. It helps me start the day calmly and I can get a head start on work etc. On the days I get up later, my day is always muddled.
ReplyDeleteGreat tips, especially now we have the darker mornings with the colder weather. I find it does help to not hit snooze and get up straight away
