As the Koala guides children through the five minutes meditation her belly and chest expands and retracts in time with the guided meditation. Allowing children to follow her with ease. Like most children, my daughter struggled to adapt with normal life during the pandemic. So we decided to introduce a few ways to practice mindfulness and meditating was her favourite thing to do with me. It has really helped her in her everyday life and especially during her transition from infant school to junior school.

Sit down in a quiet comfortable place like a bedroom or living area with the buddy sitting next to you or in front of you. Press the right paw, close your eyes and the meditation will begin sending you off in a more mindful place. 


Sitting in a Group

This adorable meditation buddy can be really great for larger groups of people or for classrooms. Meditation in the classroom helps students become more focused, calm, quiet, settled and rested by providing them an opportunity to learn to relax and reflect. My daughter preferred this way of using her meditating buddy. Lay down somewhere really comfortable with the toy on your chest - we decided that laying on the sofa would be a great place to start. Press the paw to begin meditation. Place your hand on the koala's belly to feel it move up and down, then move your belly up and down along with the toy. 

Sit Down and Hold the Soft Toy Up To Your Face

Another way that you could use your meditating buddy is by pressing the paw to begin the guided mediation and then inhaling the beautiful calming scents of eucalyptus as you listen.
