One Year Of Blogging

I hope you are all well and having a lovely week. I have a very exciting post for you all as today is my blog's first birthday! Exactly one year ago today I published my first blog post here on Mimi Rose & Me. Last July at time when I just felt so low and my anxiety was at an all time high I decided to create a blog that I could really get focused on and hopefully get back to my old self. I wanted to create a place for me, be creative, write about things that are important to me and most of all document my life as a new parent. I remember that moment of publishing my first post so clearly. Sitting in bed, giving my post one last read through and then clicking the publish button. Ahhh!

And so my little journey began. This blog has done so many things for me as a person, it has kept me focused, encouraged me to be a positive person and take that extra step outside of my comfort zone. I have got to know so many amazing and brilliant people from writing this blog and I would never had expected the blogging community to be so welcoming. I would love to list all my favourite blogging buddies but you guys know who you are and without such lovely bloggers to get advice from or who are always up for a chat I probably wouldn't love blogging as much a I do.
So today, a year later, I am thrilled with the direction that Mimi Rose & Me is headed. I have worked with some amazing companies, become friends with so many great bloggers and written over 100 posts! I have so much more planned for Mimi Rose & Me with collaborations, a parenting series and working with more fantastic companies and bloggers. I am so excited for the year coming.
There is so  much that I have learned since becoming a blogger and there is so much more to learn. I wanted to share with you all three things that I have come to find during my first year of blogging...

Blogging is hard...

There is so much involved with blogging and it can take up quite a lot of your time. The only person in my life who truly understands how much time I have spent building my blog up is my husband - that's because he lives with me! So when people say that blogging is hard, they really do mean it and I shouldn't have underestimated how hard it can be. Don't get me wrong...I LOVE it. There is so  much too beyond reading blog posts and sharing your love with the world. There is writing the content, snapping the perfect photos, sharing on social media, commenting, reading other blogs and taking part in chats or linkies. It its hard work and despite it all I really wouldn't change it!

You will do anything to get the best photo...

Bloggers, you know exactly what I mean. No one takes a photo like a blogger. Every opportunity to snap is an opportunity for a blog post and when I say this I really mean it. The lengths I will go for that one perfect shot, whether I am standing on a chair on one leg or planking across the table...it has to be perfect. I cannot eat something without taking a snap all for an opportunity to upload to Instagram and hashtag, you got to love a hashtag! My uncle thinks I am a little obsessed with them! Even my husband knows the deal with food in our home as he will always give me the best presented plate without me even asking!

Stay strong, be patient and don't change who you are...

I am not the most confident person I am pretty shy at times, until you get to know me and so sometimes I have a hard time putting myself out there. I started this blog because I wanted a place where I could channel my creativity and to have a place that was just for me. But it has become much more than that...over the last year I have taken chances to see where it takes me.

There are so many talented and clever bloggers out there, I find it exciting, entertaining but terribly intimidating. I always think 'I am not good enough' at least every other month! But despite this the blogging community is very supportive and it completely amazes me how the these groups support and celebrates one another.  I am forever learning new things when it comes to blogging and it is always great to want to do better for yourself and improve.

I am happy to say that it has been such an amazing experience and the success I have had in my first year of blogging has shown me what little self-confidence and taking steps outside my comfort zone can do.

Thank you to everyone for all your support over the last year. I love reading your comments and tweets I do truly feel loved. I have been blogging a year, what a difference a year makes and its been a great journey so far.
