Toddler Friendly No Carve Pumpkin Ideas

Since the little lady can walk it's become our tradition to go pumpkin picking and spend the evenings carving them. But like most, carving pumpkins with toddlers can be a stressful event and so this year we have tried to be a little more creative and opted for a no carve pumpkin party. I am more than  sure that there's a way you can join in with the no carving pumpkin fun, just as much as we did.

DECORATE THE PUMPKIN WITH STICKERS

It's simple, it's easy and far less mess. A winner in my book. If you own a toddler I am pretty sure that you have a book of stickers laying around the house so no need to go out and get supplies. It can be any stickers of their choosing, we decided to create a dinosaur pumpkin as apparently for Halloween she is dressing up as a dinosaur witch

MAKE A GLITTER PUMPKIN

Every parent loves glitter, am I right? Glitter pumpkins look gorgeous, but as you can imagine with glitter, it can get messy. So it may be an idea to take this activity outside on a messy mat. Or use glitter glue pens like we did, after a little rummage through our arts and craft box we found a red, blue and silver and decorated our pumpkins. I have seen some beautiful glittery pumpkins on pinterest, so go and get inspired.

PAINT THE PUMPKIN

Pumpkin painting is great for all ages. I actually really enjoyed painting pumpkins with my daughter, she had one half, I had the other half. We use white, red, blue and yellow and made a beautiful looking pumpkin. If you are going to paint your pumpkin, it may be an idea to add 1 part paint, 1 part PVA glue. We have found that it does flake off without the glue.

GLUE THINGS TO PUMPKINS

You can pretty much glue anything to a pumpkin, Sequins, buttons, pom poms, googly eyes. The possibilities are endless. We decided to glue some colourful pom poms to our and I kind of think our pumpkin looks quirky.

Will you be doing any of these toddler friendly no carve pumpkin ideas? If you do, you'll have to share your creations.

  6. Great ideas - sometimes it's easy to opt out of pumpkin decorating, because it can get too complicated! But these are lovely simple ideas for little ones. I'll pin for next year! x
