FOUR THINGS I'VE BEEN LOVING THAT ARE PERFECT FOR SUMMER

|
After living with torrential rain for the past few days, I am delighted to say that, finally summer is here. This weekend has been absolutely beautiful, nothing makes me happier that seeing the beautiful blue skies while the sunshine hits my face. Summer is definitely the season where more is often less when it comes to your make-up, except where sun protection is concerned. I don't know about you but when it comes to the summer I tend to take my makeup down a notch, I want a look that's fresh, fun and not too dramatic. I also like to wear something that can withstand the summer heat and humidity without melting or being very shiny. So today I wanted to share a few products that I like to use in the summer months that are great for creating that sun kissed subtle look that so many of us desire, that works best for you by not leaving your face feeing like you're actually melting. So let's take a look at four things I am loving that are perfect for summer.

Kate Moss Sculpting Palette * | £6.99/Coral Glow

I am absolutely loving this palette. It's a super cute contouring kit from Kate Moss and Rimmel London. Oh Kate, you little beauty, you really can do no wrong. I have always been a big fan of Rimmel and their Kate Moss products and now they have joined the contour train with this beautiful palette...my new fave! The kit has a highlighter, a contour and a blush which is available in three shades : #001 Golden Sands for fair skin tones, #002 Coral Glow for fair to medium skin tones and #003 Golden Bronze for medium to dark skin tones. Due to my pale ghost like skin I opted for the Coral Glow and it really is the perfect match for my skin tone. I think that all three shades worked great together and helped me get the contoured look without looking over the top. For me, my  favourite part of the palette has to be the blush, in fact I would go as far to say that I am so in LOVE with the blush and it's been the perfect colour for summer. It is also small enough to pop into a handbag without having to bring a truckload of makeup with you for the same effect.

Cerruti 1881 Eau De Toilette For Her * | £25/30ml

One of my friend's kindly introduced me to the fragrance and now it's a firm favourite of mine. I love the classy and elegant bottle, which looks great on a dressing table. This smaller version of the Cerruti Eau De Toilette comes in the most adorable sized bottle that is perfect for women on the go as it can be easily popped into your handbag. It is a beautiful crisp & fresh EDT that can be worn for both day and night. It is fabulously long lasting, very different and I am always getting compliments on my fragrance. It's moderately priced, so in every way a winner. Grab a bottle and enjoy!

I love Rimmel and their lipsticks, they are fantastic. The Kate Moss Lasting Finish Range are some of the best. I own quite a few from this range and it's perfect for an everyday look.  The packaging is simple, sturdy and with Kate’s signature on the lid and the shade number and colour at the bottom of the lipstick. The one that I have been and will continue to use this summer is 056 Boho Nude, it's a perfect nude. I love the apricot tones.  The formula is lovely and creamy, it glides on the lips and does a good job of not accentuating any dry bits. I find this kind of lipstick that is fuss free and a ‘grab and go’ lip.  You don’t need to really make sure they’re prepped like you would with matte lips, and I don’t find this drying after it has faded away. That’s probably the main reason why I have included this lip in my summer look. The colour itself is a stunning subtle nude with a tinge of peach and looks so flattering on all skin tones! It’s just beautifully flattering and the kind of shade that works no matter the occasion.

Tangle Angel Professional Detangling Brush* | £11.95/Precious Pink

The Tangle Angel and its innovative design make it easier to manage knotty hair keeping it silky smooth and easy to style. This detangling brush from Tangle Angel has quickly replaced my Tangle Teezer as it actually has a handle! My hair is really thick and long which means it tangles very easily. Suitable for all hair types, this is not only a detangling brush but it can also be used as a blow drying brush because its bristles are heat resistant. It comes in five different colours; pink, blue, pearl, silver and black and is possibly the cutest brush design you've ever seen.

The Tangle Angel was designed by celebrity and Royal hairdresser Richard Ward:

‘Customers and stylists on the salon floor often found that other detangling brushes slipped out of their hands as they had no handle whereas some of my 80-strong team of stylists and technicians like to hold their brushes around the body for greater control so we needed a design that worked for both the consumer and the professional. We experimented with different concepts but the most ergonomic was the design that looked like it had wings, so the Tangle Angel was born.’
I cannot tell you how much I love this detangling brush, it doesn't pull at my hair at and the fact that you can use this brush with heat tools is eveN better.  I would recommend this brush 100% to anyone who has hair that is hard to manage or that breaks easily with regular brushing. Tangle Angel also do a similar brush for children called the Tangle Angel Baby which has all the features of the Angel but in a smaller compact size. My daughter loves her brush and enjoys using it on her own hair as well as her princesses. But I also like the fact that it comes on a small key ring which perfect to put on your littles ones school bag or on your own handbag.
